A chronological list (reverse order) of the route changes that have taken place over the past 15 years. This will continue to be built as time goes by.







Change to late journeys on
Trustybus routes 392 and 393

Starting 21st December 2015.

The main services will continue to run hourly on each route on Mondays to Saturdays, however some later journeys will no longer operate.

On route 392 the last journey from Harlow will continue to be at 17:50 on Mondays to Fridays, but will be at 16.50 on Saturdays.

On route 393 the last journey will be at 16:20 with the 17:20 and 18:20 services no longer operating. Alternative later buses to Stanstead Abbotts, Hoddesdon and Broxbourne are available on routes 392 and 410.

Major new service to operate between Harlow, Thornwood, Epping, North Weald and Ongar

Starting 16th November 2015.

On Mondays to Fridays New Trustybus services 419 and 420 will provide a bus every 15 minutes between Harlow, Thornwood and Epping with alternate buses (route 420) continuing to North Weald and Ongar, providing a bus every 30 minutes on this section. On Saturdays buses will operate every 30 minutes through from Harlow to Ongar. In Harlow buses will serve Tripton Road, Tendring Road, Tillwicks Road, Passmores Academy and Potter Street.

There is no change expected to existing Townlink buses 19, 20 and 21, or to evening and Sunday services 501 and 541.
 


Minor change to
Saturday service on route 66A

Starting 17th November 2015.

Some less well-used journeys will no longer operate, although most are unchanged. Please see the link below for the full timetable or go BUS TIMES on this site for destination-specific times.

Additional earlier journeys on Arriva  Sumners/Katherines
service 1

Starting 28th September 2015.

Two earlier journeys will in future operate. These will depart from Sumners at 05:53 and 06:23, from Katherines at 05:56 and 06:26, and from Staple Tye at 06:01 and 06:31. 

There is no change to the rest of the timetable or to the Roadrunner R1/R31 service.
 



Re-introduction of Sumners/Katherines
service R1/R31

Starting 14th September 2015.

This Roadrunner route started operating again. Details will be added to this site once we are certain of the times of operation and that the service is intended to continue in the long-term.

There is no change to the recently introduced Arriva service 1 between Harlow Bus Station and Sumners/Katherines. Passengers should note that return tickets and season tickets are not inter-changeable between the two operators.
 


Changes to route 741

Starting 14th September 2015.

Route 741 which presently operates from Bishops Stortford to London in rush hours will be simplified to operate from Harlow Bus Station to London and return twice per day on Mondays to Fridays.

Coaches will leave Harlow Bus Station at 06:00 and 06:30, serve Old Harlow approximately 5 minutes later, Church Langley 5 minutes after that, and Potter Street at 06:15 and 06:45.

Coaches will return from Victoria at 17:00 and 17:30, serving Westminister and Embankment 5 minutes later, Bank approximately 15 minutes after that, and Aldgate at 17:24 and 17:54.

Changes to route 66A

Starting 1st September 2015.

Route 66A which operates between Harlow and Upshire via Waltham Abbey will have some minor revisions to the route and timetable introduced.

The route will in future be diverted on its way into and out of Harlow Bus Station so as to stop closer to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

In addition, there will be minor changes to departure times from Harlow with a slight reduction in the number of Saturday buses. Times on this site are now updated for Upshire, Waltham Abbey, Bumbles Green, Broadley Common and Tylers Cross.
 



New Sunday service to be introduced on route 410

Starting 30th August 2015.

Route 410 which operates between Harlow and Waltham Cross via Stanstead Abbotts, Hundred Acre, Rye Park, Hoddesdon, Broxbourne, Brookfield Centre, Turnford, Wormley and Cheshunt will operate every hour throughout the whole route, providing a regular Sunday connection to these points for the first time. Saturday only 5 and 354 to be discontinued

Starting 29th August 2015.

Routes 5 and 354 which operate one journey each on Saturdays only between Harlow and Perry Green or Buntingford will no longer operate after this date. This is due to cuts in subsidised service provided by Hertfordshire County Council.  

More regular connections on Mondays to Saturdays to Harlow from the towns and villages served can be made by taking buses 331 to Ware or 354 to Stansted Abbotts and changing there to bus 524 or 724 to Harlow. Email us for specific connection details.

Please note that Harlow local route 5 (Sumners Farm to Hospital or Pinnacles) is not affected by this change.
 



ROADRUNNER SERVICES DISCOUNTINUED

Routes R1 and R31, which ran from Sumners and Katherines to Harlow Bus and Train stations, most recently operated by Townlink Buses, ceased running on 20th August. The alternate service number 1, recently introduced by Arriva (see below), provides a replacement between Sumners, Katherines, Staple Tye Shopping Centre and Harlow Bus Station (Town Centre). Passengers for Harlow Town Train Station should change there to routes 2,3,4,5 (rush hours) or 10 (all day)

Routes 511 and 512 which ran between Harlow Bishops Stortford and Thorley Park ceased running on 18th August 2015. Arriva SX Connect services 509 and 510 provide a regular daily alternative between Harlow, Sawbridgeworth and Bishops Stortford. Passengers for Thorley Park should change at Bishops Stortford to Arriva routes 308/9.
 


NEW ROUTE 1 BETWEEN SUMNERS & KATHERINES and HARLOW TOWN CENTRE.

Starting 17th August 2015.

Arriva route 1 will operate between Harlow Town Centre, Abercrombie Way, Staple Tye Shopping Centre, Sumners and Katherines every 15 minutes on Mondays to Fridays and every 20 minutes on Saturdays. Buses will serve Sumners before Katherines.   
 




ROUTE 575 TO PROVIDE A SUMMER SERVICE TO SOUTHEND-ON-SEA ONCE AGAIN.

Starting 28th July 2015.

R
oute 575 which provides a one-a-day service between Harlow and Romford will be extended to Southend on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays during the school summer holidays. Buses leave Harlow Bus Station at 9.30, serve Romford at 11am and then arrive at Southend at 12.15.

Buses return from Southend at 17.15, serving Romford at 18.30 and arriving in Harlow at around 20:00.     
 




Change to routes to Sumners and Katherines

Starting 8th June 2015.

Routes R1 and R31 would seem to be operating about every 20 minutes during the daytime and may no longer be serving Harlow Town Station except during rush hours.


 


Change to routes 66A, 392, 410 & 505

Starting 11th May 2015.

Route 392, which runs from Harlow to Rye Park will in future start from Harlow Bus Station rather than Harlow Town Train Station, follow the existing route through Nazeing, Broxbourne and Hoddesdon, and then after Rye Park will continue to Hundred Acre, Stansted Abbotts and then back to Harlow Train Station and Bus Station, forming a circle. Buses will continue to operate hourly on Mondays to Saturdays.

New route 393 will start at Harlow Bus Station then operate to Harlow Town Train Station, Stanstead Abbotts, Hundred Acre, Rye Park and then follow the existing 392 back to Harlow to complete the circle. It will operate the same circle  as route 392 but in the opposite direction. Buses will operate hourly on Mondays to Saturdays.

 There will be a new timetable on routes 410/410A/410X, buses operating the same service pattern as today, providing a service between Harlow and Waltham Cross, every 30 minutes on Mondays to Fridays and every hour on Saturdays.

Arriva will no longer operate route 505, but a replacement service will be started by Trustybus providing 6 journeys in each direction on Mondays to Saturdays. Buses will leave Harlow at 06:30, 08:30, 10:30, 13:00, 15:45, 18:00. Buses will leave Chingford at 07:30, 09:30, 11:30, 14:00, 16:45 and 18:55. A full timetable will be published shortly. 

EOS route 66A will be enhanced with some additional journeys between Harlow and Upshire via Watham Abbey.
 



New Sunday service on route 19

Starting 3rd May 2015.

This route, which runs from Harlow to North Weald and Epping, will in future operate all day on Sundays. Buses will leave Harlow at 7am and then every hour on the hour until 10pm. From Epping buses will run from 7.30am and then every hour until 10.30pm.

Existing Sunday services 501 and 541 continue unchanged.


Route HC1 discontinued

After 30th April 2015.

This route, which operates a circular service from Harlow College to North Weald, Epping and Thornwood will no longer operate. Regular alternative services operate from Harlow Bus Station on Townlink routes 19,20 and 21.



Timetable change on Green Line 724

Starting 16th March 2015.

There will be some changes to times, so your bus may depart or arrive at a different time to now. In general the same level of service will be provided. Click here for timetable from www.heretotherepublishing.com.



Timetable change on Trustybus route 410/410A/410X

Starting 7th February 2015.

On Mondays to Fridays additional buses will operate to Hunsdon. On Saturdays the service will revert to an hourly operation. Click here for timetable.


Change to EOS London routes 16, 66, and 66A. New route HS1

Starting 26th January 2015.

The network of services will be altered and in future run as follows.

Route 66 will be a link between Debden (Monday to Friday rush hours and Saturdays) or Loughton (Mondays to Saturdays) and Waltham Cross, serving Epping Forest, Ninefields South and Waltham Abbey. It will no longer serve Epping or Harlow - click here for timetable.

Route 66A will operate from Harlow to Waltham Abbey and Upshire on Mondays to Saturdays. One journey at college start and finish times will operate from/to Loughton and Debden (at other times passengers will need to change at Waltham Abbey between routes 66 and 66A). Click here for timetable.

Route HC1 will operate between Harlow College (inside the grounds) and serve Thornwood, Epping and North Weald in a circle before returning to Harlow. It will operate on Monday to Friday college days only. Click here for timetable.

Route 16 will no longer operate.



Evening link from Ongar to Brentwood, route 21A

Starting 19th January 2015.

Two early evening buses on Mondays to Fridays will run between Ongar and Brentwood and between Brentwood and Ongar. These will be timed to connect with Townlink bus 20 between Harlow and Ongar, so as to enable passengers to travel through, changing at Ongar. Click here for timetable. On Saturdays, and during the daytime on Mondays to Fridays, bus 21 runs all the way through from Harlow, Epping and North Weald to Ongar and Brentwood.

Townlink route 19 to serve North Weald instead of Thornwood

Starting 19th January 2015.

Buses on Monday to Friday route 19 will continue to run between Harlow and Epping but in future operate serve North Weald before Epping.

This will provide a quicker link between Harlow and North Weald than today and increase the number of buses serving North Weald.

Routes 20 and 21 will continue to run from Harlow to Epping via Thornwood and then serve North Weald on the way to Ongar and Brentwood.

Passengers travelling to Harlow from North Weald on Mondays to Fridays should wait on the opposite side of the road to today. On Saturdays passengers should continue as today.


New timetable and additional buses on Townlink routes 19/20/21

Starting 7th November 2014.

A general revision will take place. Additional buses will operate on the Harlow to Epping and Ongar sections during Monday to Friday rush hours with buses running up to every 10 minutes between Harlow and Epping and every 20 minutes between Harlow and Ongar. The general frequency outside rush hours will be unchanged and there will be no change to the Saturday service. Please note that the last buses to and from Brentwood will operate earlier. New operator and timetable for route 347 (Harlow to Hatfield Broad Oak)
 

Starting 3rd November 2014.

Passengers should look out for small accessible minibuses when this Essex County Council supported service, changes operator from First to Epping Forest Community Transport. There will be some changes to the timetable - please click here for new times.

Changes to Townlink routes 16, 19 and 19A
Starting 19th January 2015.
Route 19 will continue to run between Harlow and Epping, but will in future operate via North Weald instead of Thornwood. Note that buses on routes 20 and 21 will continue to follow the existing route between Harlow and Epping via Thornwood, but then serve North Weald on the way to Ongar and Brentwood. New Townlink route 19A
Starting 15th December 2014.
This new service connects Harlow with Loughton via Brays Grove, Potter Street, Thornwood, Epping, Ivy Chimneys, Theydon Bois, Abridge and Debden. There will be 3 buses during each rush hour in each direction. In addition, 3 late evening buses will operate between Harlow and Epping Station. Click for full timetable.

New Townlink route 16
Starting 7th November 2014.
This new service will operate hourly on Mondays to Fridays from Harlow to Waltham Abbey via Tripton Road, Tawneys Road, Potter Street, North Weald, Epping and Upshire. Full details will appear shortly. Please note that on this site the service will be shown as route t16 so as to avoid confusion with EOS London route 16. 

New timetable and additional buses on Townlink routes 19/20/21

New college day route 16 from EOS London
Starting 20th October 2014.
A new route will operate on Harlow College days. A bus will run from Debden in the mornings via Loughton, Epping Forest and Waltham Abbey, then offering a fast direct journey to Harlow. A similar return journey will operate in the afternoon. During the daytime bus 16 will provide a fast direct hourly service from Harlow to Waltham Abbey and Upshire. Click here for full details. Please note that on this site the service will be shown as route e16, as a separate service using the same number is expected to start shortly.


Special buses on route 66 direct to North Weald Market
Starting 18th October 2014.
Each Saturday buses will depart from Harlow Bus Station at 08:40 and then every hour until 13:40. Buses will serve Tripton Road, Tawneys Road, Southern Way and Potter Street  before running direct to North Weald market. Buses will return at 09:10 and hourly until 14:10. For full details please click here. These buses will be in addition to the main service running between Harlow and Loughton.


Changes to Trustybus routes 410/411/412
Starting 15th September 2014.
A new timetable will be introduced with more journeys running through from Harlow to Waltham Cross. Buses will generally run every 20 to 25 minutes on Mondays to Fridays and every 30 to 40 minutes on Saturdays. The pattern of service will be as follows

Most buses will operate as
route 410 and will serve Brookfield Centre but not serve Hunsdon.

Seven buses spread throughout the day on Mondays to Fridays will serve Hunsdon as well as Brookfield Centre. These buses will operate as route 410A. Note that there will not be a regular service to Hunsdon on Saturday on these routes.

A few buses, mainly outside shopping hours, will miss out Hunsdon and Brookfield Centre. These buses will be numbered route 410X.

Changes to Network Harlow routes 6, 7 and 8
Starting 1st September 2014.

New route 66 - Harlow, Waltham Abbey, Loughton and Debden.
Starting 1st September 2014
A new route operated by EOS London will be introduced, restoring a regular link between Harlow and the areas of Upshire, Ninefields, and Loughton, and also on to Debden on Mondays to Fridays. Buses will operate every hour on Mondays to Saturdays with additional buses between Debden and Waltham Abbey providing a service every 30 minutes over this section on Mondays to Fridays. Changes to routes 511 and 512 - Harlow, Bishops Stortford and Thorley Park
Starting 1st September 2014
In future buses on route 511 will once again operate through from Harlow to Bishops Stortford, and then run to and from Thorley Park before returning to Harlow again. This returns the pattern of service to that which operated until recently. Route 512 will in future provide one school days only journey only between Thorley Park and Bishops Stortford Schools. Route 511 will operate approximately every 20 minutes on Mondays to Fridays and every 30 minutes on Saturdays.

Route 14 discontinued - Staple Tye, Sumners Farm and Templefields
After 29th August 2014
This single journey service will no longer operate.

Change to route 410 on Saturdays - Harlow and Waltham Cross
Starting 9th August 2014
The Saturday service will in future be numbered 412. Buses will serve Hunsdon and Brookfield Centre and operate every hour. Routes 410 and 411 will continue to operate on Mondays to Fridays.

Change to route 575 - Romford and Southend
Starting 26th July 2014
In future there will be one bus to Romford each day on Mondays to Saturdays. This will leave Harlow Bus Station at 9.30am and return at 2pm on Saturdays and in the school holidays. In term time on Mondays to Fridays it will return at 1pm. The return fare is just £5 for adults, £2.50 for children.

During the school holiodays this summer on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, the bus will continue on from Romford, non-stop, to Southend, arriving at approximately 12:15pm, returning at 5.15pm. The return fare is just £10 for adults, £5 for children and concessionary pass holder, or £20 for groups of 2 adults and 2 children.


Changes to Trustybus routes 410/411
Starting 7th July 2014.
Buses will continue to run between Harlow and Waltham Cross (Holdbrook) every 30 minutes on Mondays to Fridays and every hour on Saturdays, but to a slightly revised pattern, as below:

Route 410 will operate direct between Wormley and Turnford and no longer serve Brookfield  Centre or Canada Fields on Mondays to Fridays. On Saturdays it will operate as now, providing and hourly service covering Hunsdon and Brookfield Centre.
Route 411 will operate as now, and will not serve Hunsdon but will serve Brookfield Centre and Canada Fields. It will operate on Mondays to Fridays only.


Changes to Townlink route T15
Starting 27th May 2014.
The route will be revised to serve Harlow Town Station in the rush hours, and also will be diverted to serve First Avenue as far as the Stow, then Howard Way, Second Avenue, The Clock Tower, Potter Street, Tracyes Road and Tumbler Road before returning to town. Click here for the new timetable.  Tripton Road and Tendring Road will no longer be served by route T15, please see routes 4, and 19/20/21 for alternative regular services.



Changes to Roadrunner routes 511 and 512
Starting 19th May 2014.
The existing route which connects Harlow with Bishops Stortford and then serves Thorley Park will be divided into 2 services as follows.

Route 511 - This route will continue to connect Harlow and Bishops Stortford via Old Harlow and Sawbridgeworth. Buses will run every 15 minutes on Mondays to Fridays and every 30 minutes on Saturdays.

Route 512 - This route will run from Bishops Stortford to Thorley Park only. One journey at school start and finish times will also serve Birchwood School and Herts and Essex School.

Any passengers travelling through from Harlow to Thorley Park will need to change at Bishops Stortford.


LCB Travel - services update - May 2014
Route LCB2 is no longer operating. Passengers for the Netteswell area (Maddox Road) should use Network Harlow services 6 and 7. Passengers for Bush Fair and Brays Grove areas should use other alternative services.

Route LCB1 is still operating between 9am and 2pm, but the route and timetable are not known at present.

Route ZIP1 between Harlow Bus Station, Staple Tye and Milwards is still operating to the route and timetable shown on this site.


Changes to Network Harlow services
Starting 6th May 2014.
There will be changes to routes and timetables effecting routes 2, 3, 3A, 7, 7A, 8, 10, 20 and 505. Details as follows.

Routes 2, 3, 3A -A new timetable will be introduced with no change the the route or general level of service. Click here for a downloadable timetable and map of all Network Harlow services.

Routes 7 and 7A, and new route 6 
Route 7 will continue to run once an hour between Harlow Bus Station and Churchgate Street, but will in future serve Maddox Road near to town and Priory Avenue and Old Road in Old Harlow.

New Route 6 will start at Harlow Bus Station and follow route 7 as far as Old Harlow Post Office, and then serve Old Harlow Green Man, Old London Road, New Hall and Church Langley. Buses will operate hourly until early afternoon on Mondays to Fridays or until later in the afternoon on Saturdays.

Route 7A will no longer operate, but will be replaced over most of the route by new route 6. Routes 6 and 7 are timetabled to provide a combined half-hourly service to Maddox Road, Minchen Road and Momples Road during the times that both routes are operating.  Click here for a downloadable timetable and map of all Network Harlow services.


Route 8 - The main service between Harlow and the Old Harlow area will remain unchanged, however, so as to provide a connection between Church Langley, New Hall, and Mark Hall and Burnt Mill schools, one journey in the morning will start from Church Langley and operate via New Hall. One journey will return to New Hall and Church Langley in the afternoon.

Routes 10 and 20 - Route 10 will continue to operate the direct service between Church Langley and Harlow Town Centre and Station. Route 20 will no longer operate. There will be additional buses on route 10, which will in future operate every 20 minutes during rush hours, every 15 minutes at most other times on Mondays to Fridays and all day on Saturdays, every 30 minutes in the evenings, and every hour on Sundays. Routes 6 and the special school journey on route 8 (see above) will assist in providing an addition service from Church Langley and partial direct replacement for route 20 at New Hall. Please note that there is no change to the separate Townlink service 20 which operates between Harlow, Epping, and Ongar. Routes 505 -A new timetable will be introduced with no change the the route or general level of service. Click here for a downloadable timetable and 505 route  map.


Minor changes to rural services
Starting 21st April 2014.
There will be slight changes to routes 380/1/2/3 and 390/1. New timetables will be published shortly.


Timetable change on routes 8 and 509/510
Starting 16th March 2014.
Passengers are advised that there will be timing changes on the above services. There will be no changes to the routes or general level of service.

Direct link between Harlow, Cheshunt, and Waltham Cross to be reintroduced.
Starting 3rd March 2014.
A new regular and reliable service will be introduced between Harlow and Waltham Cross operating via Stanstead Abbotts, Hundred Acre, Hoddesdon, Broxbourne, Brookfield Centre, Turnford and Cheshunt. The new Trustybus routes will be numbered 410 and 411, and will replace existing routes C3 and C3A. Route 410 will also serve Hunsdon. Buses will operate every 30 minutes on Mondays to Fridays (alternately 410 and 411) and every hour on Saturdays (all 410). Click here for the new timetable.



Timetable change on route 524

Starting 3rd March 2014.
We believe that a new timetable will be introduced that will provide 2 buses per hour in each direction between Harlow, Ware and Hertford. One bus per hour will operate through Stanstead Abbotts as now, with one running directly along the A414. Click here for the new timetable.


Route 555 discontinued (Upshire to Harlow)
Starting 1st February 2014.
Passengers travelling between Harlow and Waltham Abbey should use route 505 . Connections are available between Waltham Abbey and Upshire using frequent route 251.

Changes to route 555
Starting 20th January 2014.
There will be some minor revision to the timetable, click here for the new times. The service will in future be operated by Swallow Coaches using a white midibus.

Changes to routes C3 and C3A
Starting 6th January 2014.
Buses to and from Harlow will in future be on route C3A which will continue to operate hourly to Hunsdon, Rye Park, Hoddesdon, Broxbourne and Brookfield Centre on Mondays to Saturdays. Route C3 will in future operate the section from Hammond Street to Brookfield Centre and onto Hundred Acre on Mondays to Fridays. Each service will operate hourly. Route 256
(Harlow to Waltham Cross)
This service is no longer always be operating. Passengers travelling between Harlow and Waltham Abbey can use routes 505 or 555. Passengers for Waltham Cross should either change at Waltham Abbey, or take bus C3 or C3A to Hoddesdon or Broxbourne and change to routes 310 or 310A. A direct link replacement service will be introduced from 3rd March (see above).


Route 17
(Harlow Town Station to Pinnacles)
This has been removed from this site, as observations have shown that it no longer operates. Passengers for Pinnacles should use route 5.


Route number 256 for Harlow to Waltham Cross service
Starting 4th November 2013 the route from Harlow to Waltham Cross via Bumbles Green and Waltham Abbey will be numbered 256 instead of 250. This will avoid confusion with other services in the Waltham Cross area. Buses will continue to operate every hour on Mondays to Saturdays.

Improvements to routes 8 and 510 from 6th October 2013

Route 8 will be increased to operate up to every 15 minutes for most of the day on Mondays to Saturdays. It will in future operate between Harlow bus station, First Avenue and Old Harlow Post Office as now, but then take a one-way circuit via the Green Man, Old Road, Priory Avenue and Station Road before returning to the Post Office and back to Harlow bus station. Evening service 8A which already takes this route through Old Harlow, but serves Netteswell and Mark Hall South instead of the direct route along First Avenue, will continue as now.

Route 510 will be divided into 2 routes, numbered 509 and 510, both running between Harlow bus station and Stansted Airport. The route between Harlow, Old Harlow, Sawbridgeworth and Bishops Stortford town centre will be the same as now on both routes, however while the 510 then serves Rye Street and Forest Hall Road on the way to Stansted Airport, the 509 will operate via Parsonage Estate. Each route will run every 30 minutes, meaning that a bus will operate every 15 minutes between Harlow Bishops Stortford and Stansted Airport for most of the day on Mondays to Saturdays. Look out for dark blue SX Connect buses on this route.

Routes 8, 509 and 510 have been planned to provide a regular bus every 7-8 minutes between Harlow and Old Harlow for most of the day. Routes 20, 59, and 511, which also serve part of this route, remain unchanged.



Changes to route 250 from 9th September 2013
This service will in future operate between Harlow and Waltham Cross. Passengers for Loughton and Debden should change to route 255 at Waltham Abbey, or alternatively should take routes 19/20/21 and change to route 541 at Epping.  


Direct link to Romford reintroduced on Saturdays from 7th September 2013.
Route 575, which provides a direct link to Romford on Mondays to Fridays, will also start to operate on Saturdays.

Changes to buses 392, 541, 555, 575 and C3 from 1st September 2013
Route 392
will be operated by Trustybus using Red, Blue and Yellow buses. The existing timetable will continue unchanged.

Route 541
will continue to operate between Loughton and Epping (St Margarets Hospital) at all times, however, buses will only continue onto Harlow during the evenings and on Sundays. The service will be operated by Trustybus using Red, Blue and Yellow buses. During daytimes on Mondays to Saturdays passengers for Loughton should use service 250, and passengers for Netteswell should use Harlow local service LCB2 and passengers for Princess Alexandra Hospital should use Harlow local service 5. Times on the remaining  section of route 541 will be largely unchanged from today. 

Route 555 will have a revised timetable introduced.

Route 575. There will also be changes to the times that operates on Mondays to Fridays. In order to improve the speed and reliability of the service, buses will in future operate non-stop between Harlow Bus Station and Epping High Street. For the new timetable please click here.

Route C3. The service on route C3 and C3A will be revised so that the Monday to Friday service will continue to operate every 30 minutes between Harlow and Brookfield Centre, with the hourly buses on route C3A only continuing to Cheshunt and Hammond Street. 


Day trip to Southend on route 575 starting 30th July 2013.
For the summer holidays only, the 08:55 from Harlow to Romford will extend on Tuesdays and Thursdays only to Hornchurch, Upminster, Basildon and Southend. Buses will arrive in Southend at approximately 11:40, and depart again for Harlow (and all places along the way) at 17:15. Fares will be just �10 return (adult), �5 return (child), or �20 for a group of 2 adults and 2 children.

Changes to buses between Harlow and the Lea Valley
From 1st July 2013

Roadrunner route C3 will no longer operate, and approximately alternate journeys on Trustybus route C3 will be diverted to serve Hunsdon. These journeys will carry the number C3A. An hourly service will be provided to Hunsdon, and a half-hourly service to all other destinations between Harlow and Hammond Street

From 29th June 2013
A new Roadrunner service numbered 250 will be introduced and provide the direct connection to Waltham Cross. Route 250 will operate between Harlow, Staple Tye, Tylers Cross, Broadley Common, Bumbles Green, Nazeing, Waltham Abbey, Waltham Cross, Ninefields South, Epping Forest, Loughton, and Debden. Route 250 will operate every 30 minutes on Mondays to Fridays and every hour on Saturdays. Further details will be published shortly.

From 17th June,
Logic Bus L3 which operates between Harlow and Brookfield Centre will be replaced by new Trustybus service C3, which will operate between Harlow, Stanstead Abbotts, Hoddesdon, Broxbourne, Brookfield Centre, Cheshunt and Hammond Street. Existing Roadrunner service C3 between Harlow and Waltham Cross will continue in the short term, but will be discontinued after 28th June, after which all passengers between Harlow and Cheshunt should use the new Trustybus service.

The new C3 will operate every 30 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays.

NEW SUNDAY SERVICE ON ROUTE C3
On Sundays, buses will operate hourly from Harlow to Stanstead Abbotts, Hundred Acre and Hoddesdon. At Hoddesdon passengers will be able to link to  route C4 for a guaranteed connection to Broxbourne, Brookfield Centre, Turnford, Wormley, Cheshunt and Waltham Cross.

CHANGE TO ROUTE 391, INTRODUCTION OF ROUTE 390
Once per day service 391 between Harlow and Bumbles Green will be extended on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays to start from and finish back at Upshire via Waltham Abbey. These journeys will be renumbered 390. Route 391 will continue to terminate at Bumbles Green on Wednesdays and Fridays. There will be a major change to the time of the return journeys, which will in future be 12:20 on Wednesdays and Fridays, and 13:45 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays during school term days, or 14:50 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursdays during school holidays. Buses toward Harlow will run a couple of minutes earlier than now.

There will be a minor change of routing at Sawbridgeworth on service 347 - buses will no longer serve the full length of Bullfields, diverting instead via Cutforth Road and Cambridge Road then back to the normal route. Times and other details will not change.

CHANGES TO ROUTE C3
A new timetable will be introduced, providing the following service levels.

Mondays to Fridays
From Waltham Cross, buses will operate every 15 minutes as far as Brookfield Centre. Every 30 minutes buses will run on through to Harlow. One bus every hour will serve Hunsdon.
Saturdays

From Waltham Cross, buses will operate every 30 minutes through to Harlow. One bus every hour will serve Hunsdon.

At Waltham Cross, buses will terminate at the bus station - Holdbrook Estate will in future be served by route 255 which operates between Waltham Cross Bus Station and Loughton and Debden.

NEW LOGIC BUS 1 FOR SUMNERS & KATHERINES
A new service will be started on Monday to Saturdays between Sumners and Katherines and Harlow via Southern Way, Staple Tye Shopping Centre, Abercrombie Way. Buses will serve Harlow Bus Station at all times, and continue to Harlow Town Station during Monday to Friday rush hours. Buses will operate every 15 minutes. Please note that there will be no change to existing services R1/R31, or evening service 1B, or Sunday service 11. For times please see Sumners or Katherines pages.

IMPROVED SERVICE BETWEEN HARLOW TOWN STATION AND PINNACLES
SM Coaches are planning to introduce route 17 to provide a regular link direct along Elizabeth Way. Buses would run every 20 to 25  minutes from Harlow Town Station starting at 05:50am and running until 08:55am. Buses would return in the afternoon starting at 3.30pm and running until 6.50pm. Full details to follow once we have confirmation that the service will start.

DIRECT SERVICE TO ROMFORD RETURNS ON MONDAYS TO FRIDAYS
Route 575 will provide one journey from Harlow to Romford in the mornings, with a return journey in the afternoon. Note that route X5 will continue to provide 3 journeys between Harlow and Romford on Saturdays.

SERVICE E20 TO STRATFORD DISCONTINUED
Please note that this service will no longer operate. Passengers for Stratford should take bus 505 to Chingford and change to London bus 97. For passengers travelling with TWH on Saturdays, we understand that route 555 (Harlow to Waltham Abbey and Upshire) will be reintroduced on Saturdays, in addition to the existing Monday to Friday service.

Route C3 will be operated by Roadrunner Buses using blue and white single deck buses with low floors. The separate branch running from Waltham Cross to Hertford via Hertford Heath will be replaced by the reintroduction of hourly service 324 between Broxbourne and Hertford. NEW DIRECT HARLOW TO STRATFORD SERVICE ON ROUTE E20.
NEW SUNDAY SERVICE TO BROADLEY COMMON, BUMBLES GREEN, WALTHAM ABBEY, LOUGHTON AND STRATFORD.


Recently introduced Harlow to Loughton Route E20 will be extended to Debden Broadway, and then non-stop on the M11 motorway to Stratford for tube, DLR and other connections. Buses will operate all day, approximately every 90 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays. On Sundays there will be 3 through journeys and and additional later Harlow to Debden journey. Route 555
will continue to operate between Harlow, Waltham Abbey and Upshire, approximately hourly on Mondays to Saturdays until mid afternoon. One schoolday journey will continue to run on to Debden Park School in the morning and return from there in the afternoon. Buses will serve Tripton Road, Tawneys Road, Southern Way and Staple Tye within Harlow.

Route X5 will no longer operate on Mondays to Fridays. The Saturday service between Harlow and Romford will continue unchanged.

New route E20 will operate between Harlow and Loughton Station. Buses will operate along the same route as the 555 From Harlow to Waltham Abbey and then serve Honey Lane, Shernebroke Road, Wake Arms, Goldings Hill, and Loughton High Road. Buses will operate between every 60 and 90 minutes on Mondays to Fridays.

Saturday buses will also serve Alderton Hill and Debden Broadway and station before continuing to Romford. Buses will not serve Debden Estate.

CHANGES TO ROUTE ROADRUNNER ROUTE R1
A number changes will be made as follows:

 - Buses will continue to run between Sumners/Katherines and Harlow Bus Station (Town Centre) with rush hour buses continuing to Harlow Town Station, but no longer serving Pinnacles Industrial Estate. An alternative service from Harlow Bus and Rail Stations is provided by Network Harlow route 5 during rush hours.
 - Buses will operate directly along Southern Way between Staple Tye and Saumners/Katherines, no longer serving the Kingsmoor area. A regular alternative service is provided by Network Harlow routes 2 and 3.
 - Buses will in future run every 20 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytimes.
 - On Mondays to Fridays, a limited number of buses will serve Sumners before Katherines and be numbered R31.

SUNDAY SERVICE INTRODUCED FOR ROUTE 59
For the first time, buses will connect Harlow with Sheering, Hatfield Heath, The Rodings and Chelmsford on a Sunday. There will be four journeys, leaving Harlow at 09:25, 11:25, 13:25 and 15:25.

We believe that revised services are now operating on Olympian Coaches commuter services to London. We would strongly advise checking with the operator before travelling, but our understand is that:

 - Four journeys continue to run to London during the early morning rush hour, and four journeys return in the early evening.
 - All four now follow the same route (as route 741), serving (within Harlow) the Bus Station, First Avenue, Old Harlow (opposite Mark Hall School and not at the Post Office),  Church Langley, and Potter Street.
 - Stopping places in London may have changed, but we believe include Redbridge Station, Bank, Embankment and Victoria.

Note that these coaches also serve Hockerill, Bishops Park and Thorley Park within the Bishops Stortford are, as well as Sawbridgeworth and High Wych.

Buses will continue to operate between Harlow and Hammond Street, but will now extend onward to serve Goffs Oak and Cuffley Station, and will also serve the Old Pond roundabout in Cheshunt between Brookfield Centre and Rosedale. NEW ROUTE L3 LINKING HARLOW WITH STANSTEAD ABBOTTS, BROOKFIELD CENTRE & HAMMOND STREET
This new service which will also serve Hundred Acre, Hoddesdon, Broxbourne, Rye House and Rosedale at Cheshunt will operate every 30 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays and be run by new operator Logic Bus using low-floor vehicles. Full details will appear shortly. There will be no change to existing services between Harlow and Brookfield Centre.

Starting Tuesday 28th February 2012
SM Coaches Route T15 will be revised and simplified. After 9am, buses will in future operate between Harlow Bus Station and Brays Grove only. Buses will continue to serve Tripton Road and Tendring Road (east) to The Phoenix and then operate a one-way loop along Tillwicks Road (as far as the Esso garage) then left around Tumbler Road and back to The Phoenix before returning to Tendring Road (east), Tripton Road and back to Harlow Bus Station. Buses will no longer serve Potter Street, Harlow Town Station, Pinnacles or Templefields. Buses will operate every 20 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays. Before 9am only buses will start at the top end of Potter Street as now and run down to The Red Lion and along Southern Way and Traveys Road before serving Tumbler Road and the normal route into town. Alternative services are provided to Potter Street on routes 19/20/21, and to Pinnacles on routes 5 and R1.

Starting 25th February 2012
Route 522, operating on Saturdays only between Harlow Bus Station and North Weald Market, will be discontinued after service on 25th February. The nearest alternative services are on routes 20/21 to North Weald Village.

Route E20
The route previously detailed on this site, is not now to start at this time. It may be considered again later in the year.

Starting 12th January 2012
A temporary change will be made to route 4. Because of road works in the area, buses will not serve Rundells at Latton Bush, and will instead serve Commonside Road only between Tysea Road and Trotters Road. Instead, a temporary shuttle, numbered 4S, will operate directly between Harlow Bus station and Radburn Close, approximately every 30 minutes during daytimes on Mondays to Saturdays, and hourly on Sundays.

Starting 19th December 2011
SM Coaches routes 19, 19A, 20 and 21 are altered. The service to Loughton (route19A) is discontinued, but additional journeys are operating on route 19 between Epping and Harlow to maintain the same level of service on that section. Additionally, the early morning journeys from Church Langley are no longer operating.

Starting 28th November 2011

Network Harlow routes 4 and 4A will be altered. Buses will continue to run between Latton Bush and Harlow Town Centre (Town Station also during rush hours) at the same frequency as today, but all buses will run as route 4 and not serve Maddox Road. For alternative services to Maddox Road please use routes 541 and LCB2.

Changes will also to be made to LCB Travel route LCB2. Buses will continue to serve Maddox Road, The Stow (Shops), Minchen Road and Brays Grove (The Phoenix) and then operate in a loop around Tillwicks Road, Bush Fair Shopping Centre, Tawneys Road, Tendring Road (east) before returning to The Phoenix, Minchen Road, Maddox Road and back to Harlow Bus Station. Buses will operate twice per hour between approximately 9am and 4pm on Mondays to Saturdays.


Roadrunner route 511 will be altered. Buses will continue to run between Harlow Town Centre and Bishops Stortford and Thorley Park but will take a more direct route between Bishops Stortford and Thorley Park and no longer serve Bishops Park or St Michaels Mead. One school-time journey will serve Parsonage Estate and be renumbered 512.

SM Coaches routes 19, 19A, 20 and 21 are altered slightly within Harlow. Between 6.30am and 5.30pm buses will now serve Tillwicks Road along the full length, but no longer serve Tumbler Road. Please see route T15 (details below) for service to Tumbler Roars. Passengers may transfer between route T15 and routes 19,19A, 20 and 21 at Potter Street or at The Phoenix. Routes 19, 19A, 20 and 21 will continue to serve Tumbler Road before 6.30am and after 5.30pm. Evening service 6A also serves Tumbler Road. 

SM Coaches route T15 is now running in both directions along Tripton Road, Tendring Road (east). Tumbler Road, Traceys Road and Potter Street to the north end.

There will be a small change to the the timetable on route C3. Some early and late journeys will no longer operate, as follows.
18:30 Waltham Cross to Harlow on Monday to Fridays (alternative buses operate at 18:10 and 19:10)
18:10 and 18:30 Waltham Cross to Harlow on Saturdays (the last bus will be at 17:45).
06:00 Harlow to Waltham Cross to Harlow on Mondays to Fridays (the first bus will be at 06:30).

SM Coaches route 14 will no longer operate after this date. Regular alternative all-day services to Harlow town centre and station are provided by Network Harlow routes 10 (Church Langley only) and 20 (Church Langley, New Hall and First Avenue). See also services 19/19A/20/21 and LCB Travel route LCB2 below.

Early morning journeys on SM Coaches routes 19/19A/20/21 will start from Church Langley and run to Harlow Town Centre before continuing to Epping and beyond.


Starting 19th September 2011
NEW ROUTE LCB2 will be introduced by LCB Travel. Buses will operate hourly between Church Langley and the Town Centre via Potter Street, Bush Fair and Maddox Road. Buses will operate between 10am and 5pm on Mondays to Fridays.

Staring 6th September 2011
SM Coaches route T15 is reintroduced to run between Potter Street and Harlow Bus Station on Mondays to Saturdays. During Monday to Friday rush hours it will also serve Harlow Town Station, Templefields, and in the mornings, Pinnacles. Buses will generally operate a circular pattern, with buses serving Tripton Road, Tendring Road and Tumbler Road when heading towards the town Centre in the mornings, and from town when returning in the afternoons.

Staring 5th September 2011
The following changes will take place to the Network Harlow and Arriva route networks.

Routes 1 and 1A will be discontinued. Sumners and Katherines will continue to be served by RoadRunner route R1, and Great Parndon (Pyenest Road and Kingsmoor Road) will revert to being served by routes 2 and 3. There will be no change to evening service 1B, which will continue to operate.

Routes 2 and 3 will revert to follow the circular pattern that operated before the changes in June. Buses will serve Harlow Town Station and Harlow Bus Station in rush hours. At other times buses will serve Harlow Bus Station only. Buses on route 2 will operate a circle via Hare Street (Harberts Road), Great Parndon (Pyenest Road and Kingsmoor Road), Kingsmoor (Paringdon Road and Ployters Road), Staple Tye Shopping Centre, Stewards (Parnall Road and Paringdon Road), Passmores (Partridge Road and Tendring Road) and then back to town. Buses on route 3 will operate in the reverse direction. Buses on each route will operate every 10 to 20 minutes during rush hours and every 12 minutes during the daytimes and every 15 minutes on Saturdays. The present evening services 2 and 3A will continue unchanged.

Route 4 will continue to operate between Latton Bush and Harlow Bus Station, however, buses will return to serving Harlow Town Station during rush hours. At all times during Monday to Saturday daytimes, alternate buses will be numbered route 4A and serve Maddox Road before taking up the usual route along Tripton Road and onto Latton Bush. Routes 4 and 4A combined will provide a service every 20 minutes during Monday to Friday rush hours, and every 15 minutes at other times on Monday to Saturday daytimes. The present evening and Sunday services are unchanged.

Route 5 will continue to run from Sumners Farm to Pinnacles or Princess Alexandra Hospital, but be diverted to serve Kingsmoor Road and Three Horseshoes Road instead of Staple Tye Shopping Centre and Abercrombie Way. This will provide the Three Horseshoes Road area with an improved frequency and better direct onward connections within Harlow.

Route 6 will be discontinued. Alternative facilities to Maddox Road will be provided by routes 4A and 541. A frequent service to Brays Grove and Potter Street is provided by SM Coaches services 19/20/21. There will be no change to evening service 6A, which will continue to operate.

Routes 7 and 7A will have minor changes to the timetable, typically journeys altered by a couple of minutes.

Route 10 will continue to operate between Church Langley and Harlow Bus and Train Stations, however, at all times during Monday to Saturday daytimes, alternate buses will be numbered route 20 and serve Old London Road (New Hall) and First Avenue. Routes 10 and 20 combined will provide a service every 10 to 20 minutes during Monday to Friday rush hours, and every 10 minutes at other times on Monday to Saturday daytimes. The present evening and Sunday services are unchanged.

Route 505 will continue to operate between Harlow and Chingford, but will be diverted within Harlow to revert to the previous route through Staple Tye Shopping Centre, and no longer serve Kingsmoor Road and Three Horseshoes Road (please see route 5 above).

The following changes will take place to the TWH Bus and Coach services

Route 555 which operates between Harlow and the Waltham Abbey area will have a new timetable introduced. Buses will serve Ninefields North (Winters Way) and Upshire but no longer serve Ninefields South (Shernebroke Road)

Route X5 which operates between Harlow and Romford will also have a revised timetable introduced. All buses will serve Debden Estate and one journey in each direction will also serve Debden Park School. 

Starting 30th August 2011 - Direct links to Loughton restored. More direct services to North Weald, Ongar and Brentwood.

Route 541 presently runs between Loughton and Epping, and continues to Harlow only during the evenings and on Sundays. In future, buses will run through from Loughton to Harlow at all times, running via Debden, Abridge, Theydon Bois, Epping Thornwood, Potter Street, Tillwicks Road and also via Maddox Road during Monday to Saturday daytimes. Buses will run hourly (every 2 hours on Sundays). Also, during Mondays to Saturdays (except evenings) buses will extend within Harlow to Princess Alexandra Hospital.

SM Coaches will be introducing a new timetable on routes 19/20/21. The through service from Harlow to North Weald, Ongar and Brentwood be reinstated all day. New route 19A will also provide a direct link to Loughton and Debden and operate hourly on Mondays to Fridays.

There will be a timetable change on Green Line 724. Buses will generally operate at the same frequency as now, but at revised timings. At Heathrow Airport buses will serve the Central Bus Station only and no longer continue to Terminal 5. Times are fully updated on this site.

Starting 15th August 2011
NEW ROUTE LCB1 will be introduced by LCB Travel.
Buses will operate hourly between Kingsmoor, Staple Tye, Bush Fair, Tye Green, Harlow Bus Station, First Avenue, Old Harlow, Edinburgh Way, Queens Gate, Howard Way, Harlow Bus Station and return to Kingsmoor. Buses will operate between peak hours (approximately 9am until 4pm) only on Mondays to Fridays.

Route 391
(Bumbles Green to Harlow) will retimed. The morning bus to Harlow will leave approximately half an hour earlier (departing Bumbles Green at 9am), and returning from Harlow 5 minutes earlier at 12.15pm.

Route 555
has been taken over by TWH Bus and Coach, and at present is operating between Harlow and Waltham Abbey, Ninefields, and Upshire only (so is not serving Nazeing, Loughton and Debden).

Starting 4th July 2011
New route 511 will be introduced. This will provide a bus service every 20 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays between Harlow, Sawbridgeworth, Bishops Stortford, Bishops Park and Thorley Park . Route 511 will be operated by Olympus Bus & Coach. There will be no change to existing route 510.



Starting 13th June 2011

Changes will be made to most Harlow Town Services. The main details are as follows.

Routes 1 and 1A will continue to operate between Harlow Bus Station and Sumner and Katherines, however buses on route 1 will only serve Sumners and buses on route 1A will only serve Katherines. Both Sumners and Katherines will each receive a service every 15 minutes for most of the day on Mondays to Saturdays. All buses will be diverted to serve Great Parndon (Pyenest Road and Kingsmoor Road) instead of Staple Tye. During the evenings, buses will follow the existing route serving Staple Tye, Sumners and Katherines and will be renumbered route 1B.

Routes 2 and 3
will be altered with route 2 discontinued except for a few evening journeys. Route 3 will operate a revised circle including Passmores Tendring Road and Partridge Road), Stewards (Paringdon Road) and then follow a one-way loop around Ployters Road, Staple Tye Shopping Centre and Parnell Road before returning to Paringdon Road, Passmores and the Town Centre continuing to the Town Station during rush hours. Buses will run every 15 minutes during rush hours and every 10 minutes during the daytime and on Saturdays.  The service through Hare Street (Harberts Road) will be transferred to new route 5. The present evening buses on route 3 will continue as at present, but will be renumbered 3A.

Route 4 will continue to operate between Harlow Bus Station and Latton Bush, generally every 15 minutes on Monday to Saturdays. Services will no longer operate to Harlow Town Station and Pinnacles. Please see new route 5 below.

New route 5 will operate between Sumners Farm and Harlow Bus Station via Staple Tye and Hare Street (Harberts Road), and also between Harlow Bus Station and Little Parndon, Pinnacles (during rush hours) and Princess Alexandra Hospital (between rush hours). Generally buses will operate every 30 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays. 

Route 6
will continue to operate between Harlow Bus Station and Potter Street, but will operate via Maddox Road instead of The Stow. Buses will operate every 12 minutes during most of the day. The separate rush hour service between Harlow Bus Station and Pinnacles and the daytime service to Little Parndon and Princess Alexandra Hospital will in future be provided by new route 5.  During the evenings, buses will follow the existing route and will be renumbered route 6A. 

Route 7 will no longer operate between Sumners Farm and Harlow Bus Station. Instead a revised route will operate between Harlow Bus Station and Churchgate Street. Buses will operate via The Stow, Minchen Road and Momples Road. which together with service 7A will now be served approximately twice every hour. The service to Sumners Farm will be provided by new route 5. 

New route 7A will operate between Harlow and Mark Hall North via The Stow, Minchen Road and Momples Road. Buses will operate every hour between approximately 9.30am and 2.30pm. This will replace the Mark Hall North section of route 505 and provide a replacement (together with route 7 above) for the section of route 8 through Mark Hall South (Momples Road).

Route 8 will continue to run between Harlow Bus Station and the Old Harlow/Harlowbury area, but will operate directly along First Avenue instead of serving Momples Road, Minchen Road and Maddox Road. At Old Harlow, buses will serve Old Road and Priory Avenue in both directions. Additionally, between approximately 9am and 3pm, buses will be extended to serve Edinburgh Way Tesco. Buses will operate approximately every 20 minutes. During the evenings, buses will follow the existing route and will be renumbered route 8A. 

Route 333 will be discontinued. Regular alternative buses run on route 510 between Harlow and Sawbridgewoth. New route 511, expected to be introduced shortly, will provide a direct link from Harlow to Thorley Park.

Route 392 will be operated by TGM Harlow, and will revert to the previous route between Rye Park and Harlow bus and train stations. Buses will continue to operate hourly on Mondays to Saturdays.

Route 505 will continue to run Hourly from Harlow Bus Station to Chingford Station on Mondays to Saturdays but will be altered within Harlow. Buses will no longer serve The Stow and Mark Hall North (See service 7). Additionally, buses will serve Three Horseshoes Road and Great Parndon instead of Staple Tye.


Starting 6th June 2011
SM Coaches will introduce new route 323A. Buses will operate between Harlow, Stanstead Abbotts, Hundred Acre, Rye Park and Hoddesdon. Buses will operate approximately hourly on Mondays to Fridays.

Starting 23rd May 2011
Changes will be made to Centrebus routes C3 and C3X. Two buses per hour will in future operate between Harlow and Waltham Cross, and all buses will be numbered C3 and serve Rye Park. One bus per hour will serve Hunsdon, as now. An additional service will also operate each hour between Hertford, Hertford Heath, Hoddesdon and Waltham Cross. Route C3X, and the section of existing service C3 which continues to Epping will   no longer operate.

There will be a timetable change to Olympian Coaches services to London. Further details to follow.

Starting 16th May 2011
There will be a change to the timetable on Lea Valley Buses route 555 which operates between Harlow, Waltham Abbey and Loughton. All buses will now serve Nazeing, but operate directly from Waltham Abbey to Upshire, Loughton and Debden without serving Waltham Cross (please see alternative direct services available).

Starting 6th May 2011
There will be a change to the timetables on SM Coaches routes 19, 20 and 21 between Harlow, Epping, Ongar and Brentwood. The same level of service will be provided, but during Monday to Friday daytimes, most buses from Harlow will operate on route 19 between Harlow and Epping only. Services to Ongar and Brentwood on routes 20 and 21 will start from Epping. A through service will continue to operate during rush hours and on Saturdays.

Starting 16th April 2011
There will be a minor change to Green Line service 724/5. The early morning short journeys between Ware and Harlow or late evening journeys between Harlow and Ware will no longer operate. The main service remains unchanged.

Starting 4th April 2011
Route 392 will be altered. Buses will continue to operate hourly from Harlow to Hoddesdon, but will then serve Hertford Heath and Herford town centre instead of Rye Park. Route C3 provides an alternate service to Rye Park. Buses will in future start from Harlow Bus Station and no longer serve Harlow Town Station.

An additional journey will be introduced on rural route 47 between Harlow and Ongar. The additional bus will depart from Harlow Bus Station at 5pm each day Tuesdays to Saturdays.

Saturday only route H1 which operates between Harlow, North Weald and Loughton will be discontinued. Passengers for Epping and North Weald should use SM Coaches routes 20/21. Passengers for Loughton should use Lea Valley Buses route 555.

Direct link from Harlow to Romford to be reintroduced
New service X5
will provide 5 express journeys each day on Mondays to Saturdays between Harlow, Epping, Debden and Romford. Buses will be significantly quicker and more direct that previous services, with a maximum journey time to Romford of just 1 hour and 15 minutes from Harlow, 55 minutes from Epping, and 40 minutes from Debden Broadway. Routes 500 and 501 discontinued on Mondays to Saturdays.
These long standing services which connect Harlow with Epping, North Weald, Ongar and Brentwood will no longer operate. Passengers are advised to use parallel SM Coaches services 19, 20 and 21. Please note that the Sunday service on route 501 will continue to operate between Harlow and Ongar.

Route 524,
which links Harlow with Ware and Hertford, will continue to be operated hourly by SM Coaches. The Centrebus 524 parallel service will no longer operate after 5th February.

Timetable changes will be introduced on most Network Harlow town services. Details as follows.

Routes 1 and 1A will together operate every 15 minutes during Monday to Friday rush hours, every 12 minutes during Monday to Friday daytimes and on Saturdays and every 30 minutes during the evenings.

Routes 2 and 3 will operate will extended to serve Harlow Town Station during Monday to Friday rush hours as well as in the evenings. On each route buses will operate approximately every 20 minutes during rush hours, every 6 to 12 minutes during Monday to Friday daytimes, every 15 minutes on Saturdays and hourly during the evenings. 

Route 4 will operate every 15 minutes all day Mondays to Saturday and every 30 minutes during evenings. The Sundays hourly service is unchanged.

Route 6 will operate mainly every 15 minutes between Potter Street and Harlow Bus Station with buses every 30 minutes also serving Little Parndon and Princess Alexandra Hospital during daytimes and the separate service between Bus Station and Pinnacles continuing every 20 minutes.

Route 7 will have very minor timing adjustments only.

Route 10 will operate mainly every 12 minutes on Mondays to Fridays, every 20 minutes on Sundays and every 30 minutes during the evenings. The Sundays hourly service is unchanged.

TWH Route 355 is no longer operating. Route 555 provides an alternative over much of the route.

 

Starting 31st January 2011

Service R3, which links Harlow with Waltham Cross and Waltham Abbey, will no longer operate after 29th January 2011. Centrebus routes C3 and C3X provide parallel alternative services.

Roadrunner buses will start new route R1, which will operate frequently on Mondays to Saturdays between Sumners & Katherines and Harlow Bus Station with Monday to Friday rush hour services continuing to Harlow Town Station and Pinnacles. Buses will also serve Staple Tye and Ployters Road.

Changes to service 555 and new route 355.

Bus 555 will continue to link Harlow with Bumbles Green, Waltham Abbey town centre, and Loughton approximately every hour on Mondays to Saturdays. On Mondays to Fridays buses will also serve Debden Broadway, will be diverted to serve Winters Way and Upshire instead of Shernebroke Road in the Waltham Abbey area, but most buses will no longer serve Waltham Cross. On Saturdays buses will generally run as now, but will no longer serve Debden.

New route 355 will also run approximately every hour on Mondays to Fridays, will link Harlow with Bumbles Green, Nazeing, Waltham Abbey, and Waltham Cross.  


Starting 15th January 2011
SM Coaches service 14 which links Harlow Bus and Train stations with Church Langley, will be increased in frequency. Buses will in future run every 15 minutes for most of the day.

SM Coaches services 19 and 20 will be revised and new route 21 introduced. All buses, running approximately every 15 minutes, will start at Harlow Bus Station and serve Brays Grove, Potter Street, Thornwood and Epping. Buses terminating at Epping Station will continue to be numbered 19. Two buses per hour will extend to North Weald and Ongar. Buses terminating at Ongar will be numbered 20. One bus per hour will further continue from Ongar to Kelveden Hatch, Brentwood and Warley. This will be numbered 21. 

December 2010
Roadrunner routes M2 & M4 have been discontinued. Passengers should utilise the alternative parallel services. SM Coaches route 18 which operates between Harlow and Bishops Stortford, will in future operate at school times only, with two journeys in the morning and two in the afternoon in each direction. Passengers should use route 333 for Thorley Park or 510 for Sawbridgeworth or Bishops Stortford at other times.

CHANGES TO SM COACHES SERVICES
Routes 1 and 31, which connects Sumners and Katherines with the Town Centre, will be mainly replaced by revised routes 19 and 20, as detailed below.

Route 9, providing a peak hour connection to Queensgate, Edinburgh Way and Templefields will be discontinued. The nearest alternative services are at Harlow Town Station, Harlow Mill Station, or on First Avenue. Sunday service 12 continues to serve these locations directly on this day only.

Route 14 will continue to connect Harlow Town Station and Harlow Bus Station with First Avenue, New Hall and Church Langley. Buses will in future operate every 20 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays.

Route 16, providing a peak hour connection to Elizabeth Way and Pinnacles, will be discontinued. Arriva services 4 and 6 provide an alternative service during these times.

Routes 19 and 20 from Epping and Ongar to Harlow will be extended within Harlow to Sumners and Katherines via Staple Tye. Each service will run every 30 minutes all day on Mondays to Saturdays, providing a combined service every 15 minutes between Epping, Harlow and Sumners/Katherines. Note that buses will operate directly along Southern Way between Staple Tye and Brookside roundabout.

CHANGES TO NETWORK HARLOW (ARRIVA) SERVICES
Network Harlow route 1 will be increased in frequency. Buses will in future operate every 8 minutes during the daytime on Mondays to Saturdays. Between approximately 9am and 3.30pm, alternate journeys will be numbered 1A and serve Katherines before Sumners.

Network Harlow routes 2 & 3
will operate every 12 minutes each, with all daytime journeys starting and finishing at Harlow Bus Station and no longer serving Harlow Town Station. Evening journeys to Harlow Town Station continue unchanged.

Network Harlow route 6
will be diverted at Southern Way to serve Potter Street. Buses will be improved to operate every 10 minutes between Harlow Bus Station and Potter Street. The level of service to Little Parndon, Pinnacles and Princess Alexandra Hospital will be mainly unchanged.

Network Harlow route 10
will operate every 9 minutes with all daytime journeys serving both Harlow Bus Station and Harlow Town Station. Evening journeys continue unchanged, serving Harlow Bus Station only.


Starting 25th October 2010
Centrebus will be introducing additional buses between Waltham Cross and Harlow. New route C3X will operate hourly on Mondays to Saturdays via Cheshunt, Brookfield Centre, Broxbourne, Hoddesdon, and Stanstead Abbotts. Note that this service will be different to Centrebus service C3, as it will not serve Hunsdon, Rye Park or Holdbrook Estate.

Centrebus will be introducing route 524 between Harlow, Stanstead Abbotts, Ware and Hertford. Buses will operate every hour on Mondays to Saturdays. Please note that there is no change to SM Coaches service 524, which will continue to operate hourly over the same route as now. Please note that return tickets purchased on the service of one operator will need to be used on a return journey provided by the same operator only.

We believe that SM Coaches route 5 between Harlow Bus Station and Old Harlow via Templefields is no longer operating. A service to Queens Gate, Edinburgh Way and Templefields continues to be provided during Monday to Friday rush hours by route 9 and on Sundays by route 12. Please note that there is no change to the separate service 5 on Saturdays between Harlow and Perry Green.

Roadrunner route R3 between Harlow and Waltham Abbey (please see under 16th August below) will be improved to operate every 30 minutes.

Starting 1st September 2010
Route 392, which operates between Harlow Town Station & Rye Park will be operated by Roadrunner Buses. There will be no change to the timetable.

Route 555, which operates between Harlow and Loughton, will have a revised timetable. Buses will generally continue to operate hourly over the full route, but there will be earlier and later buses, and additional buses between Waltham Cross, Waltham Abbey and Loughton/Debden.

Starting 31st August 2010
A new service will operate between Sumners/Katherines and Harlow Bus Station via Southern Way, Staple Tye and Abercrombie Way. This will be numbered 1, and be operated using red low-floor single deck buses. It will be operated by TGM Network Harlow buses (who are part of Arriva) and run every 10 minutes until the early evening. Please note that there will be no change to the existing 1 and 31 services operated by SM Coaches.

A change will be made to Centrebus route C3. Buses will continue to operate hourly between Harlow and Waltham Cross. The additional service which starts at Hundred Acre and also operates to Waltham Cross, will be extended to Waltham Abbey, Upshire and Epping (St Margarets Hospital).

NEW OPERATOR FOR SERVICES 47/147, 322, 381/2 & 391 (PLUS SUNDAY SERVICES 4, 10, 11 & 12)
All of the above services are provided with financial support from Essex County Council. From this date they will be operated on their behalf by Regal Busways. Look out for burgundy and cream coloured buses.

Starting 16th August 2010
A number of improvements will be made to the SM Coaches route network, as follows.

Routes M1 & M31 which serve Sumners and Katherines will be improved to run every 12 minutes all day on Mondays to Fridays and for most of the day on Saturdays. Buses will be numbered 1 or 31, but will no longer serve Harlow Town Station or Pinnacles (please see separate service 16).

NEW ROUTE M2  will operate between Harlow Bus Station, Abercrombie Way, Staple Tye Shopping Centre, Stewards, Passmores and return to Harlow Bus Station. Buses will operate every 15  minutes on Mondays to Saturdays. 


NEW ROUTE 9 will provide a rush hours service from Harlow Bus and Train stations to Queensgate, Edinburgh Way and Templefields Industrial Area. Buses will operate every 20 minutes between approximately 06:40 and 09:00 in the mornings, and between 16:10 and 18:10 during the evenings.

Route 14 which serves Church Langley, will be joined with route 14A to provide a through service to both the bus and train stations all day on Mondays to Saturdays. Buses will additionally serve Old London Road so as to provide a service to New Hall. Buses operate every 12 minutes during morning rush hours, every 8 minutes during Monday to Friday daytimes, and every 20 minutes during evening rush hours and on Saturdays. 

NEW ROUTE 16 will provide a rush hours service from Harlow Bus and Train stations to Elizabeth Way and Pinnacles  Industrial Area. Buses will operate every 20 minutes between approximately 06:50 and 08:50 in the mornings, and between 16:10 and 18:10 during the evenings.

Route 18 which operates between Harlow and Bishops Stortford (Heath Row and Herts and Essex Hospital) will be diverted to serve Thorley Park, and will be improved to operate every 30 minutes.   


Routes 19 and 20 be revised to rejoin the service through from Harlow to Ongar via Epping and North Weald. To distinguish journeys running through to Ongar, these will be numbered 20. Journeys which operate only between Harlow and Epping will use the number 19. Buses will operate to Epping every 15 minutes, and to Ongar every 15 minutes during rush hours or every 30 minutes at other times.

NEW SERVICE R3 BETWEEN HARLOW AND WALTHAM ABBEY
Roadrunner Buses will be operating a new service from Harlow to Stanstead Abbotts, Hundred Acre, Rye Park, Hoddesdon, Broxbourne, Cheshunt, Waltham Cross, and Waltham Abbey. Buses will operate every hour on Mondays to Saturdays. 

Starting 1st August 2010
LCB Travel service ZIP1 which connects Milwards Estate with Harlow Bus Station will additionally run on Saturday mornings. The first bus from Milwards will be at 08:21. Buses will then run every 20 minutes. The last bus back from the bus station will be at 12:53. Buses will continue to run until 17:53 on Mondays to Fridays.

Starting 26th July 2010
NEW SERVICE 5 FOR EDINBURGH WAY
SM Coaches will run buses on Monday to Fridays, between rush hours, between Harlow Bus Station, Howard Way, Queensgate, Edinburgh Way, Templefields, and Old Harlow. Buses will leave Harlow Bus Station at 10:00, and then every 30 minutes until 15:00. From Old Harlow buses will operate at 10:15, and then every 30 minutes until 15:15. A separate new service numbered 9 will serve Edinburgh Way starting 16th August. Please note that there is no change to the separate Saturday service 5 between Harlow and Perry Green.

Roadrunner will be operating new route M4. Buses will operate every 10 minutes between Harlow Bus Station and Latton Bush via Tripton Road and Tawneys Road. During rush hours buses will also serve Harlow Town Railway Station. All buses will be low floor.

Starting 12th April 2010
SM Coaches route 18, which presently provides a once a day school service from the Harlow area to Bishops Stortford, mainly for schools, will be expanded run all day on Mondays to Saturdays. Buses will operate via Old Harlow and Sawbridgeworth, and extend in Bishops Stortford to Herts & Essex Hospital and Parsonage Estate (Heath Row). Buses will operate at least every 40 minutes, more frequently during rush hours


Starting 3rd April 2010
TWH Bus and Coach route 55 which operates on Mondays to Fridays between Harlow and Loughton/Debden via North Weald and Epping will no longer operate. Arriva Service 501 and SM Coaches service 19 provide alternative links to North Weald and Epping. Saturday service H1 will continue to operate. For service to Loughton and Debden on Mondays to Fridays, please change at Epping to service 541, or see route 555 below. 

TWH Bus and Coach new route 555 will operate from Harlow to Staple Tye, Tylers Cross, Bumbles Green, Waltham Abbey, Waltham Cross, Ninefields South, Epping Forest (Wake Arms/Old Orleans), Loughton and Debden. Buses will operate approximately hourly on Mondays to Saturdays. Click for details

Saturday routes 5 and 354, will from this date be operated by Centrebus instead of Myalls. Please look out for orange buses.


Starting 22nd March 2010
Arriva route 500 will be revised to operate between Harlow Bus Station and Epping only, but improved so that together with Arriva route 501, there will be four buses an hour over this section during Monday to Saturday daytimes. Route 501 will continue to run from Harlow Bus Station to Epping and on to North Weald, Ongar, Brentwood and Warley every hour. Please note that both routes 500 and 501 will no longer serve Old Harlow, which is presently served by these routes during rush hours only. SM Coaches service 19, which operates four buses an hour between Harlow, Epping, North Weald and Ongar, is not changed.

A revised timetable will be introduced on route 4. Buses will generally operate as now, but the daytime frequency will in future be every 12 minutes.

Starting 18th January 2010
There will be revisions to SM Coaches services, as follows.

Service 14 will continue to run between Church Langley and Harlow Bus and Train stations during rush hours, as now. During daytimes (between rush hours) buses will in future operate only between Church Langley and Harlow Bus Station, but will be improved to operate approximately every 8 minutes. Additionally, an evening rush hour service will be provided to Edinburgh Way (Queens Gate and Templefields). Please see also new service 14A below for morning rush hour service to Edinburgh Way, and for daytime service to the train Station.

New Service 14A will operate every 10 minutes between Harlow Bus and Train Stations. During the morning rush hour some buses will continue on to Edinburgh Way (Queens Gate and Templefields).

Service 19 which operates between Harlow and Epping will be extended to serve North Weald and Ongar. Buses will continue to operate every 15 minutes. Please note that all buses will start from Harlow Bus Station, and no longer serve Harlow Train Station.

A new timetable will be introduced on route C3. Buses will in future run hourly between Waltham Cross and Harlow on Mondays to Saturdays, with additional hourly buses running between Waltham Cross and Hundred Acre, to give a half-hourly service over this section.

Route 354 which operates a once a day service between Harlow and Buntingford will in future operate on Saturdays only.

Starting 19th December 2009

Service H1, operated by Imperial Bus & Coach will be  discontinued on Mondays to Fridays. The Saturday service, which operates 4 times per day, will continue to be operated by Regal Busways. A replacement Monday to Friday service will operate in the form of reintroduced route 55, operated by TWH Bus & Coach. A limited service will operate initially, with a full hourly timetable between Harlow and Loughton/Debden starting from 4th January 2010.  

Starting 15th November 2009
Arriva service 510 will have a small change of routing in the Stansted Area to serve Forest Hall Road. There will be some timing changes as a result, although the main frequency will remain as now. 

Harlow to Clacton in one change
Starting 2nd November 2009, express service X22 which operates from Stansted Airport to Braintree, Marks Tey and Colchester will be extended to Clacton. Buses operate every 2 hours, all day, 7 days per week. Bus 510 provides a regular connection from Harlow to Stansted Airport. 

Starting 5th September 2009
TWH Bus and Coach "North Weald Flyer" service 55 will no longer operate after 5th September 2009.

Starting 1st September 2009

Route 392 will have a change of operator. TWH Bus and Coach will take over the service, which will continue to run hourly between Harlow Town Station and Rye Park.

Minibus ZIP1 which operates between the Bus Station and Millwards Estate will be operated by LCB Travel. Further details to follow.

It is expected that the TWH Bus and Coach "North Weald Flyer" service 55 may no longer operate from around this time. 


Starting 15th August 2009
Excel service 333 which operates between Stansted Airport and Harlow or Epping will no longer operate after this day. Please note that there will be no change to the Arriva 333 service between Harlow and Thorley Park. Service 510 provides the main service to Sawbridgeworth, Bishops Stortford and Stansted Airport. Many alternative services operate between Harlow and Epping. 

Starting Monday 27th July 2009
Bus C3 which operates between Waltham Cross and Harlow via Stanstead Abbotts, Hoddesdon, Broxbourne, and Cheshunt, will be improved to operate every 30 minutes on Mondays to Fridays. The Saturday service will continue to operate every hour. 

Starting Monday 20th July 2009
Town services 2 and 3 will be extended to serve Harlow Town Station as well as Harlow Bus Station during the daytime on Mondays to Fridays. Buses will operate every 18 minutes during the day. There will be no change to the existing rush hour service, which also serves Harlow Town Station and Harlow Bus Station, or to the Saturday service, which will continue to operate only to Harlow Bus Station.

Starting Monday 6th July 2009
Route 347 will be operated by First using low floor buses. Please look out for white single deck vehicles.

Starting Friday 5th June 2009
Bus operator Stansted Transit has ceased to operate. Services 347 and  392 is being operated by Excel, but as this has started at short notice, passengers should be aware that buses may be in unfamiliar colours and may look different each day until a regular service is re-established.

Arriva have announced changes to two services as follows.

Routes 2 and 3 will continue to operate the same route, but at the following frequencies on each service.

Monday to Friday morning rush hours and daytimes - every 15 minutes.
Monday to Friday evening rush hours - every 20 minutes
Monday to Friday evenings - every hour
Saturday early mornings - every 20 minutes
Saturday shopping hours before 2pm - every 15 minutes
Saturday shopping hours after 2pm - every 20 minutes
Saturday evenings - every hour.
Sundays - no service, as now (see route 11)


Route 10 will no longer serve Harlow Town Station between rush hours on Mondays to Fridays. Frequencies will be as follows.

Monday to Friday morning rush hours - approx. every 12 minutes.
Monday to Friday daytimes until 4pm - approx. every 8-10 minutes.
Monday to Friday 4pm to 8pm -  every 20 minutes.
Monday to Friday evenings - every 30 minutes.
Saturday daytimes - mainly every 20 minutes.
Saturday evenings - every 30 minutes.
Sundays - every hour.

Please note that service 10 will continue to serve Harlow Bus Station at all times, and Harlow Town Railway Station during Monday to Friday rush hours, and at all times on Saturdays and Sundays.

Arriva's 333 service will be revised to operate hourly on Mondays to Saturdays between Harlow Bus Station and Thorley Park only. Excel's 333 service will continue to run from Epping (Monday to Friday peak hours only) or Harlow (all times Monday to Saturday daytime) to Thorley Park, Bishops Stortford and Stansted Airport. Arriva services 510 continues to run regularly between Harlow, Bishops Stortford and Stansted Airport. Excel service 308 also continues to operate between Bishops Park, Thorley Park, Bishops Stortford and Stansted Airport.

Starting 6th February 2009

A new service operated by TWH Bus and Coach will commence, partly replacing service 55. It will operate between Harlow Bus Station, North Weald and Epping between rush hours on Mondays to Fridays and though the day on Saturdays.

TWH Bus and Coach services 55 and L55 will no longer operate. Services H1 and 541 provides alternative connections to Loughton and Debden.

Service N55 will no longer operate. An evening service to Loughton and Debden is provided by service 541.

Starting 10th December 2008
Changes are being made to SM Coaches services 14 and 19. Service 19 will continue to operate on the section between Epping and Harlow on Monday to Friday. The separate service from Harlow Bus Station to Church Langley will be replaced by revised service 14. Monday to Saturday service 14 will in future run from Church Langley to First Avenue, Harlow Bus Station and Harlow Town Station. The rush hour section of service 14 between Harlow Bus Station and Pinnacles will no longer operate. Passengers should change at Harlow Town Station to service M1, or to Arriva service 4.

Starting 1st December 2008
Trustybus services 22 and 33 will no longer operate. Alternative services around the Statple Tye loop are provded by Arriva services 2 and 3.


Starting 10th November

A new timetable will be introduced on route H1. On Mondays to Fridays, buses will in future operate a one-way loop at Loughton and Debden serving Homebase, Loughton High Road, Loughton Station, Borders Lane, Epping Forest College, Debden Broadway, and Debden Estate before returning to Harlow. There will be no change to the Saturday service. 

Starting 3rd November
Re-linking with Lakeside on weekdays.
In addition to the new direct Saturday service operated by TWH Bus and Coach, there is now a weekday (Monday to Friday) option involving a change at Epping. Bus 575 will depart for Lakeside from Epping at 09:30, returning from Lakeside at 13:15 and arriving back at Epping at 14:44. The service will be operated by Blue Triangle.

Please disregard an earlier message about a change to Trustybus service 22/33. This continues unchanged.

Improvements to route 55
A  number of changes are being made, as follows.
A new Saturday service will be introduced between Harlow and Loughton/Debden. Buses will run hourly along the daytime route, but will also serve North Weald Market on Saturdays only.
During Monday to Friday rush hours more buses will serve Epping Station, and between the rush hours (Monday to Friday daytime) buses will be extended in Harlow to serve Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Also during rush hours, additional buses will run between Pilgrims Hatch, Ongar and Epping Station. 


Starting 10th October 2008
New services: 
L55 from Harlow to Lakeside and 
N55 from Harlow to Loughton and Debden

Following the introduction of new route 55 by TWH Bus and Coach (see below), additional services are now being introduced. 

Route L55 will operate to Lakeside on Saturdays, departing from the Bus Station at 09:45 and Potter Street at 09:53, arriving Lakeside at 11:10. Buses will return from Lakeside at 16:30, arriving at Potter Street at 17:36 and the Bus Station at 17:44. Simply turn up and pay on the bus. Bus L55 will serve normal route 55 stops between Harlow and Debden Broadway. Return tickets will be priced at �10 for Adults, �6 for students/children 5 years and over.

Route N55 will provide a later evening service along the whole 55 route on Friday and Saturday nights. Buses will operate 4 journeys in each direction, with the last departure back from Harlow Bus Station at 3am on Saturday/Sunday mornings. Times will be available shortly. Please note that special night fares will be charged.

Starting 6th October 2008
A new timetable will be introduced on Imperial service H1. The service will in future operate between Loughton Station and Harlow Bus Station only, no longer serving Princess Alexandra Hospital or Edinburgh Way.

Starting 21st September 2008

The Easybus express service to London will no longer stop at Hastingwood Garden Centre. The nearest boarding point to Harlow will now be at Stansted Airport.

Starting 8th September 2008
New service 55 from Harlow to Loughton and Debden
A new service will be launched by TWH Bus and Coach Services running hourly on Mondays to Fridays. Buses will run from Harlow to Tylers Green, North Weald, Epping (St Margarets Hospital and High Street) Old Orleans, then in a loop in Loughton and Debden serving Homebase, Loughton High Road, Loughton Station, Borders Lane, Epping Forest College, Debden Broadway, and Debden Estate before returning to Harlow. Within Harlow buses will serve Tripton Road, Tawneys Road, Bush Fair, and Potter Street. Look out for blue and gold coloured buses, and for additional new services in the late evenings, and to Lakeside on Saturdays, both coming shortly. There are no changes to other services to the Loughton and Debden area. 

Changes to service 6 and evening service 1

Route 6 will be altered as follows.
 - Within Brays Grove buses will in future serve The Phoenix, Tumbler Road, Traceys Road, and Spinning Wheel Mead before returning to serve all of Tumbler Road and The Phoenix again on the way back to the Town Centre. Buses will no longer serve the main part of Tillwicks Road, which will continue to be served by routes 500 and 501.
 - Buses will no longer serve the Town Station except during the rush hours but will continue to serve Little Parndon and the Hospital as now.
 - The evening service will continue to operate between Brays Grove and the Town Centre, but no longer continue to Little Parndon and the Town Station. These journeys will in future be transferred to route 1.
Route 1, which operates in the evenings between Sumners and Katherines and the Town Centre will be extended to Little Parndon and the Town Station, taking over from route 6 on that section in the evenings only.


Starting 1st September 2008
The limited service 7 between Harlow and Chelmsford provided by Regal Busways will no longer operate. Route 59 continues to provide an hourly service on Mondays to Saturdays.

Starting 18th August 2008
A revision will be made to the express services operated between Harlow and London by Olympian Coaches. In future 4 journeys will operate each way. Further details will be posted shortly.

A change to the timetable will be introduced on Imperial Service H1. Passengers are advised to re-check times of early and late buses in particular.


Starting 6th July 2008
Changes to Routes 500 and 501
Route 500 will in future run mainly between Harlow Bus Station and Ongar on Mondays to Saturdays. The service onto Romford will be discontinued and replaced by new Transport for London service 375 operating between Romford and Passingford Bridge only. As this will not connect with the shortened 500 service, passengers from Harlow seeking to travel to Romford will need in future to take route 501 to Brentwood and change there to service 498. Route 500 will continue to run hourly over the remaining section. Some morning rush hour buses will continue to extend from Harlow Bus Station to Old Harlow.

Route 501 will be extended from Brentwood to Warley, Eagle Way. It will also generally start from Harlow Bus Station with only morning rush hour journeys running to or from Old Harlow.

Buses 500 and 501 together provide a half-hourly link between Harlow, Epping, North Weald, and Ongar.


Starting 30th June 2008
There will be a timetable change on Trustline services 22/33. Buses will continue to run every 15 minutes on each service during rush hours, but every 20 minutes on each service at other times.

Starting 1st June 2008
There will be minor timetable alterations to Green Line 724, with some short journeys renumbered 725 or 726.

By 26th May 2008
There will be a change to the timetable on Trustline service 22/33. Passengers using early morning journeys are advised to check details with the operator. The whole service will now start at Harlow Bus Station, passengers for Harlow Town Station will need to change to alternative services.

SM Coaches 524 service, which runs between Harlow and Herford via Ware and Stanstead Abbots, will return to being an hourly service from around this time. 

SM Coaches town services will also have some revisions, principle details as below.

15 - Largely as now, evening rush hour journeys no longer serving Templefields.

19. This will now mainly operate as two separate services, one operating from Harlow Bus Station to Church Langley via First Avenue, but now with a rush hour service extended to the Town Station and Templefields. The other service from Harlow Bus Station via Tripton Road, Tumbler Road, Potter Street and Thornwood to Epping Station. Both services will operate every 30 minutes.

M1/M31 - The service numbered M31 will in future operate via Kingsmoor Road and Pyenest Road instead of Staple Tye. Route M1 continues unchanged. Both services will operate every 15 minutes, providing more buses to Sumners and Katherines.

Green Line 724 will no longer serve Terminal 4 at Heathrow. The service will continue to serve the Central Bus Station (for Terminals 1, 2 and 3) and Terminal 5.

Starting 3rd May 2008

Ipswich in one change. If you are likely to need a cost effective way of getting there, Excel Coaches express luxury coach X5 will be introduced to run from Stansted Airport. The service will operate 12 times per day. Buses operate from Harlow to Stansted Airport regularly 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Ipswich in one convenient change.

There will be changes to the Regal Busways service which supplements the 381. Buses will be numbered 7 or 7A, and in addition to the regular morning journey into Harlow, there will be additional return and afternoon journeys.

Starting 25th March 2008

Green Line 724 will provide better access at Heathrow Airport. In addition to serving the central bus station, buses will also stop at Terminal 4 and the new Terminal 5. There will also be a minor rerouting at St Albans. 

SM Coaches services will be changed as follows.
Route 15 will continue to serve Westfield, Brays Grove, Tumbler Road and Potter Street from the Town Centre. It will operate in a loop between so that buses running from the Town Centre before 3.45pm, or to the Town Centre after 3.45pm, will operate to Potter Street directly using Second Avenue. Some buses on Monday to Friday will be transferred to service 19, which will also now serve Westfield, Brays Grove, Tumbler Road and Potter Street on route to and from Epping (please see below) so that there will be still be a service every 15 minutes. During rush hours, buses on route 15 will also serve the Town Station and Templefields. Passengers for Pinnacles should change to service 14 at the Town Centre. Route number 16 will not be used.

Route 19 will now operate from Church Langley, through First Avenue and into the Town Centre, then out through Westfield, Brays Grove, Tumbler Road and Potter Street before continuing to Thornwood and Epping. Buses will operate every 30 minutes. During the morning rush hours buses from Church Langley will also serve Harlow Town Station. On Saturdays the service will operate between Church Langley and the Town Centre only, with certain morning buses continuing to Harlow Town Station. Buses on this route will no longer serve Sumners/Katherines (see 1 and 31 below) 

Routes 1 and 31 will continue to operate between Sumners/Katherines and the Town Centre and now be operated by SM Coaches. At Staple Tye buses will serve Paringdon Road near Milwards and Ployters Road. During Monday to Friday rush hours buses will continue to Harlow Town Station and Pinnacles. Passengers for Templefields should change to route 15 at Harlow Town Centre. Buses on these routes will no longer serve Potter Street and Tumbler Road. 

Starting Saturday 22nd March 2008
Imperial service H1 will have a timetable change. The general level of service will be the same, however an altered route will be introduced in Loughton  and Debden, and buses will no longer operate on the short section between Edinburgh Way Tesco and Old Harlow. 

Starting 4th February 2008 
Route 19 changes.
We believe that this route now operates in two separate sections. The service from Epping now runs to Harlow Town Centre via Thornwood, Potter Street and Brays Grove. It then continues to Staple Tye, Sumners and Katherines. The Church Langley service now operates to and from the Town Centre via First Avenue.

Easybus starts a regular service to London, operating near to Harlow

Although rush hour services operate from various parts of Harlow to London, there is now a regular 24 hour 7 day a week service from nearby, outside the garden centre near the Hastingwood/M11 roundabout. This is basically a London to Stansted Airport Service, that has a pick-up and drop-off point on the way. It provides an �8 single fare for all passengers, although this can be reduced by on-line early booking. If this sounds as though it could be of use, we suggest looking at www.easybus.co.uk

Starting 7th January 2008
There will be significant improvements to route 510 which operates between Harlow Bus Station, Sawbridgeworth, Bishops Stortford and Stansted Airport. During Monday to Saturday daytimes, buses will be improved to operate every 20 minutes. Additionally there will be new night times journeys, so that there will now be a continuous hourly service through the night.

Starting 5th January 2008
A new service will be introduced by TrustLine Buses. Route 22 will operate in a circle from Harlow Bus Station to Hare Street, Kingsmoor, Staple Tye Shopping Centre, Stewards, Passmores and back to Harlow Bus Station. Route 33 will operate in the opposite direction around the circle. Both routes 22 and 33 will operate every 15 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytimes, and will also serve Harlow Town Station during Monday to Friday Rush Hours. 

Starting 3rd January 2008.
SM Coaches route 524 which operates between Harlow Bus Station, Stanstead Abbotts, Ware and Hertford will be improved to operate every 30 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytimes. 

Trips to Lakeside and Bluewater for shopping or to see the Christmas Lights in London. 


Imperial route H2 will operate on Saturdays and Sundays between 1st December and 23rd December between Old Harlow and Lakeside & Bluewater shopping centres. It will follow the H1 route in Harlow. Just turn up and pay on the bus. 

The London Christmas Lights service will operate on Wednesday and Saturday evenings between 1st December and 22nd December using vintage buses, again following the H1 route in Harlow.

17th November 2007
A number of changes are taking place on route H1:-

At Loughton and Debden, the route will operate in a circle serving Homebase, High Road, Loughton Station, Epping Forest College, Debden Broadway and Station, Debden Estate and back to Homebase before returning to Harlow. 

Within Harlow the Monday to Friday service will now start at Old Harlow Post Office and serve Edinburgh Way, Harlow Town Station, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow Bus Station and then Potter Street. The service will no longer serve Bush Fair. Buses will continue to operate hourly. One new express journey will operate in the mornings from Debden to Epping and Harlow, and will be numbered X1.

On Saturdays the service will start at Harlow Bus Station (as now) follow the new direct route to Potter Street, but will be improved to operate every 2 hours.

At all times, valid return tickets issued on route H1 will be accepted on route 541 and vise-versa.

November 2007
A number of changes have taken place to the local services of SM Coaches and Olympian Coaches. We are awaiting full details, but believe they are as follows.

Route M1 and M31 now provide the main all day services from Sumners and Katherines to the town centre, with route M31 extending during morning rush hours to Town Station and Templefields. Routes M11 and M21 no longer operate. Some M31 journeys continue after Templefields to Brays Grove and then follow route M15 back into the town centre.

Route M15 now operates from Potter Street to the Town Centre only during the daytimes. New route 14 provides and all day link between the town centre and town station, extending to Pinnacles during the rush hour.

Route 19, which operates between Harlow Town Station and Epping Station via Church Langley and North Weald will now start from Harlow Bus Station, and also operate via Second Avenue to Church Langley, and then more directly to Epping via Thornwood instead of North Weald. Buses will operate every 30 minutes,

Some alterations to timetables are being introduced on Arriva services 2/3, 4, 8, 10,  333 and 505. In general there are only minor changes.

Route 524, which operates between Church Langley, Harlow and Hertford will be shortened to operate only between Harlow and Hartford only and reduced to operate every 60 minutes instead of every 30 minutes. Arriva route 10 and SM Coaches service 19 continue to serve Church Langley,

A new timetable will be introduced on route 541 on Mondays to Saturdays. Buses will continue to run hourly, but will no longer run between Loughton Station and Buckhurst Hill Station. There is no change to the Sunday route or timetable.

Starting 14th May 2007
Route H1,
which operates from Loughton to Harlow Bus Station, will be extended to Princess Alexandra Hospital, First Avenue, Howard Way, and Edindurgh Way to Tesco. Buses will continue to operate hourly on Mondays to Fridays. There will be no change to the Saturday service, which will continue to provide 4 journeys between Loughton and Harlow Bus station only

29th April 2007
A number of changes will take place to the services linking Harlow and Epping to destinations to the south. Details as follows.

Route 500.
This service will continue to operate hourly on Mondays to Saturdays from Old Harlow to Romford, however the route will be diverted to serve North Weald and Ongar instead of Theydon Bois and Abridge. Additionally, the late evening service will no longer operate. Please see route 541 for the replacement service.

Route 501.
This service will continue to operate hourly on Mondays to Saturdays from Old Harlow to Brentwood via Ongar, so together with route 500 above, will provide a joint half-hourly service over the Old Harlow to Ongar section. A new Sunday service will be introduced between Harlow Bus Station and Ongar, operating every 2 hours. This will indirectly replace Sunday only routes 200 (Harlow to Buckhurst Hill) and 201 (Buckhurst Hill to Ongar).

New Route 541. This service will be the main service for Theydon Bois and Abridge. During Monday to Saturday daytimes it will start at Epping (St Margarets Hospital) and run hourly via Ivy Chimneys, Theydon Bois, Abridge and Debden to Loughton Station and Buckhurst Hill. During the evenings it will start at Harlow Bus Station, replacing route 500 as far as Abridge. On Sundays the service will also Start at Harlow Bus Station and will operate every two hours as far as Loughton, indirectly replacing route 203. A joint hourly service will operate on routes 501 and 541 on Sundays between Harlow Bus Station and Epping.

Sunday routes 200, 201 and 203 will be discontinued and replaced by introduction of routes 501 and 541 on that day.      





16th March 2007
SM Coaches Route 524, presently operating from Hertford to Harlow Bus Station, will be extended to Church Langley via First Avenue. The service will continue to operate every 30 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays. Please note that there will be no change to Arriva route 10, or to SM Coaches route 19.

We believe that two services have now been discontinued. These are:-
M9 - Harlow Town Centre to Church Langley via Templefields and Old Harlow. Please note that routes 10 and 19 continue to provide most connections previously provided by these routes, although no service will operate outside of rush hours to Templefields.

600 - Bishops Stortford to Lakeside via Harlow. Passengers for Lakeside are advised to take service 500 to Romford and change to route 370.

Route 392
will operate between Rye Park and Harlow Bus and Town Stations only, following the existing route through Hoddesdon, Broxbourne, Nazeing, Broadley Common and Paringdon Road. The service onto Edinburgh Way and Old Harlow, or to Ware and Hertford will no longer operate. Please see Network Maps page for alternative services. The service will also be operated by Stansted Transit from this date using white single deck buses.  

An additional return journey will be operated in each direction on Route 347. Times for the morning journey will also be altered. Full details are now updated on this site.


5th February 2007

SM Coaches are operating new service 19 from Harlow Town and Bus Stations to First Avenue, Mark Hall School, New Hall, Church Langley, Potter Street then serving North Weald and Epping, St Margarets Hospital, Hight Street and Station. Buses operate all day, approximately every 45 minutes.  

Excel route 333 will be altered. The service will in future only serve Epping during rush hours. At other times, buses will start at Princess Alexdandra Hospital and operate to Sawbridgeworth and Bishops Stortford before diverting to Stansted Airport. Buses will also no longer serve Old Harlow. Passengers for Stansted Mountfitchet should change at Bishops Stortford to service 301, or at Stansted Airport to Village Link 7.


15th January 2007
A minor change of route will take place on the 6 in the Stow area. During daytimes, buses will in future operate via the full length of Howard Way between First Avenue and second Avenue, and no longer serve Momples Road, which will continue to be served by route 8. Evening buses will continue unchanged. The same level of service will be provided, but times will be altered on most journeys.


2nd January 2007
SM Coaches
route 524 will be altered to operate every 30 minutes on Monday to Saturdays between Harlow, Stanstead Abbotts, Ware and Hertford. The existing once daily service to Stevenage will be discontinued. Please note that there is no change to existing services 392, 724 and C3.   

Changes will also be made to SM coaches route SM19 - details are not yet available.

2nd October 2006
Olympian Coaches service M7/M8 will be discontinued. An alternative service M9 will cover part of the route, running from the Town Centre to Sainsbury's, First Avenue, Howard Way, Queensgate Centre, Edinburgh Way, Templefields, Old Harlow Post Office and Church Langley (Tesco).

Route 392
will be extended at both ends. The service will now continue from Harlow Town Station to Queensgate, Templefields and Old Harlow, operating all day Mondays to Saturdays. From Rye Park, the service will now extend to Hundred Acre, St Margarets, Ware and Hertford. The single journey on route 393 serving Roydon will be replaced by an additional 392 journey.


Changes to Green Line 724
A revised route and timetable will be introduced from 3rd September 2006. The service will continue to operate hourly from Harlow to Heathrow Airport, but take a more direct route between Harlow and Hertford and between Hertford and Hatfield. This will improve journey times to most destinations, but will mean that the route will no longer serve Stanstead Abbotts and St Margarets Station (served by route C3) or Hertingfordbury and Birch Green. 

Changes to operators
Starting Sunday 27th August 2006, passengers should be aware that some services operated for Essex County Council will look slightly different. Details of routes changing operator are as follows.

Routes 381/2, Harlow to Epping Green Coopersale and Toothill will be operated by Arriva. The first journey into Harlow will continue (arriving 07:38) will continue to be operated by Regal Busways, and will be numbered 502. 
Sunday Harlow town services 4, 10, 11, and 12 will be operated by Arriva.
Sunday routes 200, 201 and 203 will be operated by Arriva.  
School service 322 (Old Harlow to Saffron Walden) will be operated by Excel 
Rural services 47, 146 and 147 will be operated by Excel 

Services 302 (Saffron Walden to Harlow) and 506 (Harlow to Waltham Cross) will be discontinued.


Route M15/6 to serve Tendring Road
This service, which operates from Harlow Town Station to Potter Street will now serve Tripton Road and Tendring Road between Second Avenue and Brays Grove (The Phoenix). This will provide a closer service for Church Leys and Waterhouse Moor. The service remains otherwise unchanged.

Improved Saturday Service on route 59
From 29th July 2006, the Saturday service on route 59 will run every hour, basically to the same times as the existing Monday to Friday service, except that the first journey from Chelmsford will be at 06:40.

Timetable change on route 724
There were some minor changes to times on route 724 from 1st July 2006 mainly related to late journeys towards Harlow. All times on this site are now updated

Improvements to Metro 10
Starting 5th June 2006, route 10, operating between Harlow Town Station and Church Langley, will be improved to operate every 12-15 from early in the morning until late afternoon. The later service, including the recently improved evening service, will continue at the same frequency as now.

Change to Route C3 
Also starting 5th June 2006, route C3 will operate a revised timetable between Harlow and Waltham Cross (Holdbrook Estate) via Hoddedon and Brookfield Centre. The service will no longer operate onto Waltham Abbey and Upshire. Passengers for these destinatiaons should use the more direct service provided on route 505 to Waltham Abbey, and change to routes 213 or 251 for Upshire.

Summer Sundays out - something different!
For a limited number of Sundays in 2006, starting 7th May 2006, service 622 will operate using Vintage double deck buses. The service will operate between Harlow and Braintree serving Sheering, Hatfield Heath, Hatfield Broad Oak, Little Dunmow, Great Dunmow, Felsted and Rayne. Buses will operate 6 times per day, but on certain days only. Please click for full details.


Changes to route 524
Passengers are advised that this service will be discontinued after 25th March 2006, although a limited number of school day journeys will continue to be operated by SM Coaches from 12th April. Passengers for destinations from Harlow to Hertford North Station should use route 724. Passengers for destinations between Hertford and Stevenage should change to connecting bus services at Hertford Bus Station or rail services at Hertford North Station.

Route 1 (Sumners & Katherines) improved to operate every 30 minutes during the evening on Mondays to Saturdays. Last bus back from town now 23:51

Routes 2 and 3 (Staple Tye) continue to provide an hourly service on each, at slightly altered times, and with an additional late journey on each. Last buses back from Town Centre now at 23:02 (route 3) or 23:32 (route 2). Last bus back from Town Station on these services is at 22:59 (route 3). 

Route 4 (Bush Fair & Latton Bush) improved to operate every 30 minutes during the evening on Mondays to Saturdays. Last bus back from town now 23:47

Route 6 improved to operate every 30 minutes during the evening on Mondays to Saturdays. Last bus back from town now 23:35 (Bush Fair & Latton Bush) or 23:34 (Little Parndon). Last bus from Station to Town Centre now at 23:44. 

Route 8 (Netteswell & Mark Hall South). Hourly service continued with an additional last bus back from town at 23:50 on Mondays to Saturdays

Route 10 (Church Langley) improved to operate every 30 minutes during the evening on Mondays to Saturdays. Last bus back from town now 23:57.

Evening fares (after 7pm) are now only �1 single. Timetables are now being updated on this site.

Routes 5 and 6 combined
Route 5, running between Pinnacles, Little Parndon and Harlow Bus and Rail Stations will now be numbered 6, as these two routes run over much of the same roads. Most journeys will continue to operate over one section only, as follows.

A new timetable has now been introduced on
routes C3 operating between Harlow, Brookfield Centre, Waltham Cross and Upshire. Please note that route C2 no longer     
serves Harlow, and that all journeys to and from Harlow are now numbered C3. The same level of service continues to be provided, being basically hourly on Mondays to Saturdays.  

Recent service changes

A major round of alterations to local services has taken effect over the Christmas and New Year period, details below.

1/1A - The main Arriva service will be withdrawn after 24th December. Passengers for Sumners and Katherines should use the alternative services provided by Olympian Coaches, which will now be numbered M1/M11/M21/M31. The Monday to Saturday evening hourly service will continue to operate.

2/3 - A revised timetable will be introduced from 28th December.

5 - The main service to Potter Street will be withdrawn after 24th December. Improvements will be made to SM Coaches services in part compensation (see M15/M16). Early morning, rush hour and evening buses will continue to operate and serve Pinnacles (Monday to Friday rush hours only), Little Parndon, Harlow Town Station and Harlow Bus Station (Monday to Saturday). 

B6 - This service will be renumbered to 6 from 28th December, and extended to serve Harlow Town Station, Little Parndon and Princess Alexandra Hospital, replacing route 5 over this section. Within Brays Grove buses will serve Tillwicks Road instead of Tumbler Road (see M15/M16). Buses will run every 30 minutes during the daytime.

10 - There will be minor changes to the timetable on this service from 28th December.

M1/M11/M21/M31 - New numbers for the main Olympian Coaches services to Sumners and Katherines, providing the same basic frequency and service pattern as existing R1/R11/R21 services. In general there will be buses every 10 minutes to the Town Centre, with rush hour links to Harlow Town Station, Templefields and Pinnacles. Route M31 will provide two journeys per hour operating to Katherines before Sumners during daytimes.

M7/8 - These services will provide a daytime (off-peak) service between Harlow Bus Station, Harlow Town Station, Queensgate, Edinburgh Way, Old Harlow, Harlowbury, Mark Hall South, The Stow and Harlow Bus Station. Each will operate hourly on Mondays to Fridays, M7 in the direction above, M8 in the reverse direction. 

M15/6 - New numbers for the main service to Brays Grove, Tumbler Road and Potter Street, replacing routes 5 and T15. This service will be operated by SM coaches every 10 minutes to the town centre with rush hour extensions to Pinnacles (M15) or Templefields (M16).

R1/R11/R21 - These services will be renumbered M1/M11/M21/M31 but otherwise follow the same basic pattern and frequency. 

R2/R3 - These services will be discontinued. Passengers should use Arriva services 2 and 3

T10 - This service will be withdrawn after 24th December. Passengers for Church Langley should use Arriva service 10, passengers for Templefields should use services M21 or M16.

T15 - This service will be renumbered M15, and improved to operate every 10 minutes. Certain journeys will serve Templefields, and be numbered M16. The new service begins on 3rd January 2006.





19th September 2005

Change to Arriva route 333
This service will no longer operate the small section of route between Harlow Bus Station and Princess Alexandra Hospital. There will also be a revised routing in Bishops Stortford. Full details to follow shortly. 

10th September 2005

Route 711 to be discontinued
This service, which provides one commuter journey to and from London, will no longer operate. Passengers are advised to use Olympian Coaches commuter services 741 and 742.

5th September 2005

Roydon Hamlet service renumbered 391
The once daily service between Harlow and Bumbles Green via Roydon Hamlet, presently using service number 1, will in future be numbered 391. This will avoid confusion will other services.

30th August 2005

School journey on route 10
One journey in each direction will on future serve St Marks School in Tripton Road. Times will be shown shortly. Additionally, a later journey from Church Langley back to Harlow, at 23:11, will also be introduced.

Change of operator for route 347
This service will in future be operated by Stansted Transit

Extra journey on route 505
An additional journey will be added to the existing timetable. The new journey will leave Harlow at 16:16, and serve all points to Waltham Abbey.

18th July 2005 (assumed date)
Routes R7 and R8 discontinued.
These circular services, providing day-time links between Harlow, Edinburgh Way, Harlowbury, Old Harlow and Mark Hall South will no longer operate. There will no longer be a daytime service along Edinburgh Way, however, regular alternative services operate to all other destinations.

Milwards minibus service retained (updated item)
Please note that the Zip1 service which connects Harlow town centre with Milwards will now continue to operate after this date, due to financial the provision of financial support from Essex County Council.



27th June 2005
Route 524 - A revised timetable will be introduced on this service which operates between Harlow, Hertford and Stevenage. Within Stevenage buses will in future serve Bragbury End and Broadwater (Roebuck Centre). Additionally, some rush hour journeys will serve Gunnels Wood Road and Stevenage Rail Station. New timetable details will be available on this site from 16th June. 


27th June 2005 (amended 1st June 2005)
Route C4 to be replaced by routes C2 and C3 
Route C4, which operates between Harlow and the Brookfield Centre in Cheshunt, will be merged with Cheshunt local services C2 & C3 which operate from Brookfield Centre to Waltham Cross. This will provide one through service, providing an all day direct service between Harlow, Stansted Abbots, Hoddesdon, Broxbourne, The Brookfield Centre, Cheshunt, Waltham Cross and onto Upshire. The new combined service will use the numbers C2 and C3, and will be operated by TrustLine using red buses. Timetable details and will be advised shortly.

10th April 2005
Changes to Arriva services are being introduced, as shown below.

1 and 1A - These new routes will replace route B1. Please see below for details.

2/3 - Frequency improved to operate every 10 minutes on each route during to Monday to Friday daytimes. Buses will continue to run every 15 minutes during rush hours, and hourly during the evenings. On Saturdays buses will run every 15 minutes during the morning, every 20 minutes during the afternoon, and hourly during the evenings.

4 - No change to the basic service. On Saturdays buses will run every 15 minutes during the morning, every 20 minutes during the afternoon, and hourly during the evenings.

5 - Some minor changes will be made to the timetable. The same basic level of service will be provided.

7 - Buses will no longer serve Helions Road in Hare Street, running instead the full length of Harberts Road.

8 - A new hourly evening service will be introduced over the whole route, including the Old Harlow and Harlowbury areas. The main service will continue to run every 15 minutes at all other times, except on Saturday afternoons, which will be every 20 minutes.

10 - A new timetable will be introduced at the existing frequency.    

505 - This route will be no longer operate between Old Harlow and Mark Hall North. Buses will in future run from Mark Hall North to Chingford Station, but will be diverted to also serve Lower Nazeing Cross Roads. 

510 - The evening service which operates through Momples Road and Maddox Road will in future operate directly via First Avenue. Please see route 8 for the replacement service. 

724 - The 21:30 departure from Harlow to Hatfield will no longer operate. One early morning journey will in future be numbered 725.

B1 - This service will be altered as follows
 - Renumbered 1
 - Improved to operate mainly every 10 minutes during Monday to Friday daytimes. 
 - During rush hours, the buses which continue to Harlow Town Station will be extended to Pinnacles and renumbered 1A.
 - An hourly evening service will be introduced.

B6 - Some minor changes will be made to the evening peak hour timetable. The same basic level of service will be provided.

New route 524 to Stevenage
Olympian Coaches will be operating new route 524 from Harlow Bus and Town Stations to Stanstead Abbotts, Ware, Hertford, Stapleford, Waterford, Watton-at-stone and Stevenage. Buses will operate every hour on Mondays to Saturdays. Please select a destination from 'Out of Town' links for times.

Timetable change on route H1

There will be some minor alterations to times on this service, please check for details.

Revised times will be introduced, although to the same general frequency and service pattern. Passengers for the industrial areas are advised to re-check times.

16th December 2004

Changes to SM Coaches routes T6, T10, T15.

T6 - This service now operates between Harlow Town Station, Harlow Bus Station, The Stow, Brays Grove and Latton Bush (Pear Tree Mead). Buses now run every 20 minutes throughout the day on Monday to Saturdays. During the morning rush hour, buses also serve Edinburgh Way (Queensgate and Templefields). Church Langley is no longer served by this service.

T10 - Now improved to run every 15 minutes during the daytime.

T15 - Rush hour service standardised to serve Pinnacles every 20 minutes (no longer serves Templefields). Daytime journeys to Harlow Town Station introduced every hour.

More new buses, this time for route 59. Again, they will be low-floor, but of a smaller design than those for the 510 below, reflecting the rural nature of the service, but still providing improved standards of comfort and ride quality as well as easy access.

6th December 2004

Arriva
will be introducing brand new buses onto route 510. These will be the latest low-floor buses, allowing step free entrance for wheelchairs, prams and shopping trolleys, and also providing a generally improved ride and environment.   

A new timetable will be introduced on Excel route 333. Buses will continue to run generally at the same frequency as now, however the Saturday service will in future run between Harlow and Stansted, and not serve the section between Harlow and Epping via Pinnacles. Additionally, the section within Harlow serving the Pinnacles will only now operate during rush hours. Please note that the Monday to Friday service will continue to run between Epping and Stansted, and also that there is no change to Arriva route 333 between Bishops Stortford (Heath Row) and Harlow (Princess Alexandra Hospital).

Red buses for rural routes 47/146/147 and 347.
All of the above services, providing rural links to villages to the East of Harlow, will be operated by TrustLine on behalf Essex County Council from this date.

13th September 2004 (updated 19th September)

A new timetable will be introduced on Route 505. There will be no change to the general level of service between Harlow and Chingford during Monday to Saturday daytimes. The evening service will no longer operate throughout, and the section to Mark Hall North and Old Harlow will no longer run during rush hours. In Old Harlow the service will operatye direct between the Post Office and the Green Man and no longer serve Harlowbury (The Hoo, Priory Avenue). Regular alternative services now run on route 8. Times are now updated on this site.

Route 47/147 to serve Magdalen Laver.
These existing services which provide a once a day service to villages to the east of Harlow from Tuesday to Saturday, will be diverted to additionally serve Magdalen Laver. Buses will leave the village at 10:15 am, arriving in Harlow at 10:47. the return service will leave Harlow at 13:35. Departures from some other points will now be a few minutes later than previously. 

9th August 2004

Route R1 will continue to link Sumners and Katherines with the town centre, continuing during rush hours to Harlow Town Station. Buses will generally operate every 10 minutes during daytimes. During the morning rush hour, those journeys continuing to Harlow Town Station and Edinburgh Way will be numbered R21

Routes R11 will continue as today, to revised times, and also serving Harlow Town Station.

Routes R21 will continue largely as now during rush hours, with additional morning journeys, as mentioned above. The daytime service to Queensgate, Edinburgh Way and Templefields will be replaced by services R7 and R8 (see below)

Route R31 will no longer operate, replaced by the more frequent service on route R1


2nd August 2004

Route R2 will continue to operate between the Staple Tye area and the Town centre, continuing during rush hours to the Town Station and Pinnacles Industrial Area. Buses will no longer operate to Mark Hall South and Old Harlow

Route R3 will continue to operate between the Staple Tye area and the Town Centre, continuing during rush hours to the Town Station and Templefields Industrial Area. Buses will no longer operate to Mark Hall South and Old Harlow.

New Route R7 will provide an hourly circular link during Monday to Friday daytimes between Harlow Town Centre, Harlow Town Station, Edinburgh Way, Harlowbury, Old Harlow, Mark Hall South, The Stow and Harlow Town Centre

New Route R8 will provide a similar service to route R7 above, operating in the reverse direction.


26th July 2004

Arriva
route 333 will be extended within Harlow to provide a regular service to Princess Alexandra Hospital. Buses will continue to operate every 30 minutes during Monday to Saturdays (except evenings) to and from Sawbridgeworth, Bishops Stortford and Parsonage Estate (Heath Row).

Route B6 will be revised to serve the Bus Station and Sainsbury's in both directions.
 

RURAL SERVICE CHANGE
Route 396 to Hastingwood, presently operating one journey on Fridays, will no longer operate after 26th March 2004.

IMPROVEMENTS TO METRO 8
Starting 15th March 2004, route 8 will be improved to operate every 15 minutes. The service will also be extended within Old Harlow to serve The Green Man, Old Road and Priory Avenue (as per route 505). 

CHANGES TO ROUTE 410
Starting 1st March 2004, route 410 will operate only on Monday to Friday Schooldays, with the main service operating between Harlow Town Centre and Old Harlow Post Office only. Passengers for Sawbridgeworth, Bishops Stortford and Stansted Airport should use the regular alternative services provided by routes 333 and 510. Passengers for Takeley should change at Bishops Stortford to Village Link 5.

CHANGES TO OLYMPIAN TOWN SERVICES
Starting 23rd February 2004 routes R2 and R3 are being expanded. The main service around the Staple Tye area will continue, but buses will in future run on to connect with Old Harlow. During rush hours buses will serve the Town Station as now, then Edinburgh Way (Templefields) and Old Harlow Post Office. During the daytimes, buses will continue on from the Bus Station to serve Netteswell (Maddox Road) Mark Hall South (Momples Road) and Old Harlow Post Office. Buses will generally operate every 10 minutes. In addition, a bus every 30 minutes will extend to Old Road, Priory Avenue, The Green Man and onto Churchgate Street. Full details of times will be provided shortly.

Also from 23rd February, Route R4 will no longer operate.


LAKESIDE SERVICE TO CONTINUE ON SATURDAYS
After
21st February route 600 will provide a direct service to Lakeside on Saturdays. Buses will start at Bishops Stortford serving Sawbridgeworth, Old Harlow, First Avenue, Staple Tye, and Potter Street before running non-stop to Lakeside. Buses will leave Harlow Bus Station at 9.30 and midday (Old Harlow 13 minutes earlier, Potter Street 13 minutes later) returning from Lakeside at 14:25 and 17.25. The weekday service, introduced for Christmas, will no longer operate. 

IMPROVED SERVICE FOR HUNSDON
Starting 2nd February route C4 will be altered to serve Hunsdon, providing a regular service on Mondays to Saturdays. Some times are slightly revised, most details are now updated. 

IMPROVED SERVICE ON METRO 4
Starting 12th January 2004, Arriva Metro 4, will be improved to operate every 6 minutes during Monday to Friday daytimes between Latton Bush and the Town Centre. The rush hour service, including journeys to the Town Station and to Pinnacles, and the Saturday service, will remain as now.

LOCAL ROUTE 6 TO BE DISCONTINUED
After
10th January 2004, Arriva local service 6 between Potter Street and the Town Centre will be discontinued. Regular alternative services operate. Please click POTTER STREET for details. Please note that there is no change to separate route B6, which continues to operate between Harlow, The Stow, Brays Grove and Latton Bush (Pear Tree Mead)

NEW SERVICE R4 TO LATTON BUSH
Starting 17th November, Olympian Coaches will be operating new service R4 between Harlow Bus Station and Latton Bush via Bush Fair. Buses will operate every 10 minutes between 9am and 6pm on Mondays to Fridays. There will be no change to existing  services in the area.

NEW DIRECT SERVICE TO LAKESIDE
Starting 8th November, Olympian Coaches will provide a direct connection to Lakeside Shopping Centre from the Harlow area. Route 600 will start at Bishops Stortford serving Sawbridgeworth, Old Harlow, First Avenue, Staple Tye, and Potter Street before running non-stop to Lakeside. Buses will leave Harlow Bus Station at 9.30 on Mondays to Saturdays (Old Harlow 13 minutes earlier, Potter Street 13 minutes later) returning from Lakeside at 14:25. On Saturdays there will be an additional service from Harlow at midday, and an additional return journey at 17:25. The return fare will be just �4.  

Starting 1st November 2003.

Route H1, which currently operates between Harlow and Buckhurst Hill, will be revised to terminate at Loughton Station on Monday to Saturday. Times are otherwise unchanged. Passengers for Buckhurst Hill should change to buses 167 or 549 at Loughton.

Starting 20th October 2003.

Olympian Coaches
services to/from Katherines and Sumners are being revised, with a new pattern of routes. There will be additional buses serving Pinnacles, services in the daytime through to Old Harlow, and buses serving Katherines before Sumners. The new service numbers will be R1, R11, R1 and R31. Starting 11th October 2003.


Route 410,
which currently operates between Harlow and Bishops Stortford, will be extended to Stansted Airport. Buses will run half-hourly on Monday to Saturday, and operate via Dunmow Road and Takeley. The Rye Street area will continue to be served by route 510. Times are now updated on this site.

Starting 6th October 2003.

SM Coaches route T6, will operated to a revised route and timetable. Buses will in future operate from the town centre to Minchen Road as now, then continue to Brays Grove, Tumbler Road, Potter Street and Church Langley Tesco. Buses will in future operate hourly between approximately 9am and 3pm.


Starting 1st October 2003.

New route 503 will provide a limited new direct connection between Harlow and Waltham Cross. Buses will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and provide 3 return journeys on each day. For times, click Waltham Cross

Starting 29th September 2003.

Rural services 47, 146 and 147
will have a new timetable introduced. The same level of service will be provided, but buses will in general arrive earlier and depart later, allowing more time for shopping etc. Convenient low floor buses will be used wherever possible on routes 47 and 146. New times are now updated


Starting 30th August 2003.


Route 59.
There will be a minor change to the Saturday timetable - one late afternoon journey between Harlow and Hatfield Broad Oak will be discontinued. Deatils are now updated on this site.

Route 210
between Harlow and Sawbrigdeworth (Bullfields) via Mark Hall South will be discontinued after service on 29th August. Arriva route 8 will continue to serve Maddox Road, Minchen Road, Momples Road and Old Harlow. Routes 333, 410 and 510 provide regular alternatives to Old Harlow and Sawbridgeworth (London Road/Cambridge Road) direct via First Avenue.

Route 505
will be altered at Chingford and Old Harlow. At Chingford buses will in future operate via the full length of Sewardstone Road and then serve Kings Head Hill and the station, where buses will teminate. At Old Harlow buses will continue to serve the existing roads, but operate a one-way loop via the Post Office, Wayre Road, Green Man, Old Road, Priory Avenue, Station Road and the Post Office before returning to Harlow town centre and onto Chingford.

Passengers for parts of Chingford and Walthamstow no longer served should change to local London Buses services. Details of new times are now available under the relevant place from the DESTINATIONS or LOCAL POINTS pages.



Starting 28th July 2003.
There will be a change of operator on two services. The Monday to Friday service on route 354 will change to TrustLine using red buses whilst the Saturday service will continue with Myalls using white minibuses. There will be no change to the timetable.

The evening service on
route 500 will also change to TrustLine, though there will be no change to the main daytime and peak hour service operated by Arriva. Late evening Departure times FROM HARLOW are being altered, and will now run approximately 20 minutes later than previously operated. Please check revised details now on the site.

CHANGES TO ROUTE 333 
IMPROVED FREQUENCY TO THORLEY PARK,  HERTS & ESSEX HOSPITAL AND PARSONAGE ESTATE. FIRST ALL DAY SERVICE TO PINNACLES INDUSTRIAL ESTATE

The existing hourly service on route 333 between Epping and Stansted run by First will be discontinued and new replacement services introduced as follows.

Arriva will operate a service every 30 minutes between Harlow, Old Harlow, Sawbridgeworth, Thorley Park, Bishops Stortford Town Centre, Herts & Essex Hospital and Parsonage Estate (Heath Row).

Excel will operate an hourly service between Epping and Stansted Mountfitchet. This will follow the existing routing for most of the journey, but within Harlow will serve Fourth Avenue, Elizabeth Way (Pinnacles) and Third Avenue instead of the Hare Street area. This will provide a new all day link on Mondays to Saturdays to The Pinnacles.

Most times of the new services are updated, except where stated otherwise. 



Starting 7th June 2003
NEW DIRECT SERVICE TO THE BROOKFIELD CENTRE TO REPLACE ROUTE 310B.
Route C4
will run hourly on Mondays to Saturdays from Harlow, also serving Stansted Abbotts, Hundred Acre, Rye Park, Hoddesdon and Broxbourne. Saturday only service 310B to Waltham Cross will be discontinued. As an alternative, two direct journeys to Waltham Cross on Saturdays are provided by route 506. At other times, passengers should either take the C4 or 392/3 to  Broxbourne and change to routes 310 or 311, or take bus 505 to Waltham Abbey and change to bus 211, 212, 213, 250 or 251.

Service 347 will have a revised timetable. Two return journeys will in future operate over the whole 347 route, replacing the shorter 348 service, which will be discontinued. New times are available below the existing times from the relevant places shown on the DESTINATIONS page.

Service 500 which operates daily between Harlow and Romford, will no longer operate on Sundays. As a replacement, new service 203 will run on Sundays only between Harlow and Debden serving Brays Grove, Potter Street, Epping, Theydon Bois and Abridge. Times will also change on Sunday service 200. Details of both will be available from mid-May.

Regal Busways will start new service 506, providing two return journeys between Harlow, Waltham Abbey and Waltham Cross on Saturdays only. Details are now included on this site.

Additional buses will operate on LocalLink service 410, increasing the frequency to every 30 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytime. The service will also be extended in the Bishops Stortford area to also serve Rye Street and Farnham Road. Revised times will also be introduced on LocalLink service 210 at the same time. Buzz co-operative, operators of yellow buses on routes B1/B31, B6 and B11 have ceased trading. The following replacement services are now operating. 

Arriva route B1 runs from Sumners and Katherines to the Town Centre via Staple Tye. During rush hours buses additionally run directly onto the Town Station. Buses operate every 15 minutes during rush hours and every 10 minutes during daytimes and on Saturdays. Passengers for Templefields and Pinnacles will need to use service R1 (see below).

Arriva route B6 runs from Pear Tree Mead and Brays Grove to the Town Centre via Tumbler Road, Minchen Road and The Stow. During rush hours buses additionally run directly onto the Town Station. Buses also serve Sainsbury's during daytimes. Buses operate every 20 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays. Passengers for Pinnacles will need to use alternative services.

Olympian Coaches route R1 operates from Sumners and Katherines to the Town Centre, Town Station and Templefields. There are also rush hour services through Pinnacles. Buses operate every 20 minutes during rush hours. In the daytimes buses operate every 15 minutes between Katherines/Sumners and the town, with alternate buses continuing to Templefields. 

SM Coaches route T6 runs from the Town Centre via Maddox Road, Minchen Road and The Stow before returning to the Town Centre. During rush hours buses additionally serve the Town Station and Pinnacles.

Please note that operators are making every effort to provide a replacement service at short notice and services may be delayed initially. Your patience and cooperation is requested. Details of these changes are gradually being updated on this site, please check the last update date to be certain that changes are included.



Starting 15th March 2003
Arriva will be making changes to Metro 10 and 10A. Buses will continue to run between Church Langley, Harlow Town Centre and Harlow Town Station, however the existing 10A buses that operate during rush hours through Edinburgh Way (Templefields), Old Harlow, and Nortel will no longer operate. All buses will instead operate as service 10 to the standard route to a revised timetable at the same level of service. This change will assist in improving timekeeping and reliability. New timetable information has been provided in advance.

Alternative services B1, T10 and T15 will continue to serve Edinburgh Way from Harlow Town Centre and station. Route T10 will additionally provide a direct service from Church Langley.

SM Coaches are planning to start new service T10. Buses will run every 30 minutes between Church Langley, Harlow Town Centre and Harlow Town Station. During rush hours buses will also serve Edinburgh Way (Queens Gate, Templefields). Times are now updated.

service H1 has now been extended from Loughton to Buckhurst Hill on Mondays to Fridays. Buses continue to run hourly but some times have changed. The Saturday service continues to operate four times per day as far as Loughton Station. 

LocalLink service 1 between Harlow and Old Harlow is now discontinued. Regular alternative services operate along the same route.

A new timetable will be introduced on Mondays to Fridays on route 381/382. Buses will continue to run between Harlow, Roydon, Epping Green, Epping, Coopersale and Toothill, however journey times will be altered in order to improve reliability. New times are now shown beneath the existing times, please take the appropriate link from the DESTINATIONS page for details. The Saturday service will continue unchanged. 

Starting 1st February 2003
A new timetable will be introduced on Saturday route 310B. Buses will continue to run hourly from Harlow to Stansted Abbotts, Hoddesdon, Broxbourne, Cheshunt and Waltham Cross. Passengers for Enfield will need to change at Waltham Cross to one of routes 310, 310A, or 317 from there. Times are now updated on this site. 


Starting 16th December 2002
Regal Busways will be introducing new route 503 on schooldays. The service will operate from Harlow to either High Ongar or Brentwood and will consist of one daytime return journey to each destination by way of Thornwood, Epping, North Weald & Ongar. Times are now updated on this site.   


From 9th December 2002
Changes to Olympian Coaches services in the Staple Tye area.
Existing services OC2 & OC3 have been replaced by new RoadRunner routes R2 & R3. These services will run from the bus station in a circle via Abercrombie Way, Passmores, Stewards, Staple Tye Shopping Centre, Ployters Road, Kingsmoor and return to the town centre. During rush hours buses will operate to the Town Station and Pinnacles. Both services will operate every 20 minutes during the daytime and every 30 minutes during rush hours.  


Park & Ride at Christmas - low floor - low fare!
In the lead up to Christmas, a park and ride service will be operated between the town centre and nearby Burnt Mill School, just off First Avenue. Buses will operate every 10 minutes during shopping hours on every Saturday from 23rd November until Christmas, and also on Sundays 24th November, 1st December and 22nd December. The fare is just 50p return for adults (free for under 14's) and buses will be low floor to give easy access for buggies, trolleys, and wheelchair accessibility.

Starting 23rd November 2002

LocalLink will be introducing a Christmas shoppers service on Saturdays from Bishops Stortford and Harlow direct to Lakeside and Bluewater. New route 701 will leave Harlow Bus Station at 9.30 and 11.30, serving Bush Fair and Potter Street a few minutes later. Return times are 3pm and 5pm from Bluewater and 3.30pm and 5.30pm from Lakeside. Buses will operate each Saturday until mid-January. 


Starting 16th November 2002

Arriva will be making improvements to local services:- 

Routes 2 and 3 serving Staple Tye and the surrounding area will be improved to provide a bus every 15 minutes on each service during most of Monday to Friday daytimes and in shopping hours on Saturdays.

Additional buses will be introduced between Harlow Town Centre and Potter Street. The additional service will be
route 6 and will run every 15 minutes from around 9am to 2.30pm on Monday to Fridays and 3.30pm on Saturdays. 


Starting 11th November 2002

LocalLink will be making improvements to services between Harlow, Old Harlow, Sawbridgeworth & Bishops Stortford:-

New route "The ONE" will provide additional buses between Harlow Town Centre and Old Harlow (Post Office) operating direct via First Avenue. Buses will operate every 20 minutes from around 9am until around 2.40pm on Mondays to Fridays.

Route 210 will continue to run between Harlow Bus Station and Sawbridgeworth, but will now operate to Bullfields within Sawbridgeworth rather than serving Bishops Stortford (see new route 410). Buses will continue to operate via Maddox Road and Momples Road and will be improved to run hourly.

New Route 410 will run hourly on Mondays to Saturdays between Harlow Bus Station and Bishops Stortford. Buses will operate direct via First Avenue, then serve Old Harlow, Sawbridgeworth and Spellbrook.   


Starting 28th October
At our neighbour town of Sawbridgeworth, Arriva, in conjunction with Hertfordshire County Council, are introducing brand new minibus services. These will connect many of the residential areas with the town centre and station. A new timetable will be introduced on Milwards local service ZIP1. Buses will now run every 20 minutes between Harlow Town Centre, Staple Tye and Milwards, running every 20 minutes from approximately 8.20am until 5.50pm on Mondays to Fridays. Please note that the limited service to the Town Station and the Saturday service will no longer operate. New timetable details will be published on this site from from 14th October.

Starting 22nd June 2002

Service improvements will be provided to Netteswell and Mark Hall South. Faster journeys will be available to and from Sawbridgeworth, Bishops Stortford and Stansted Airport. Details as follows.

New route 8 will operate between Harlow Bus Station and Old Harlow, following existing route 510, but operating every 20 minutes on Monday to Saturday daytimes.
Route 510 will operate direct via First Avenue between Harlow and Old Harlow, improving journey times to all destinations beyond.
Please note that during the evenings buses on route 510 will continue to follow the existing routing as new route 8 will not operate at these times. Timetable details will be available from 21st June..

There will be a major enhancement to route 4 (Latton Bush, Bush Fair & Harlow), with buses running every 7-8 minutes during the daytime. In addition, those journeys which are presently numbered 4A will use the main number 4.

Route 333 is extended to serve the main airport terminal at Stansted. There are also some additional later journeys from Stansted. New timetable details are now updated on this site. .

Changes to operators and timetables from Easter weekend (updated 7/4/02)
A number of services which are operated on behalf of Essex County Council had a change of operator, and some times have changed also. All details on this site are now updated..

Route 1* (Harlow to Bumbles Green) will be operated by Arriva to the existing timetable.
Routes 47, 146*, 147, 347, 348, will be operated by LocalLink Buses to the existing timetables.
Route 354 will be operated by London Transit on Monday to Fridays (there is no change to the Saturday service provided by Myalls)
Routes 381 and 382 will be operated by Regal Busways to the existing timetable.
Routes 392 and 393 will be operated by TrustLine to the existing timetable.
The Sunday service on routes 200 and 500 will be operated by LocalLink Buses (please note that there is no change to the main Monday to Saturday service provided by Arriva). There will be an earlier service toward Romford and later return journeys from Romford.

In addition new route 210 will be provided by LocalLink buses. The service will operate from Harlow Bus Station to Bishops Stortford via The Stow, Old Harlow and Sawbridgeworth. Buses will run approximately every 90 minutes on Monday to Saturdays.

11th March 2002
New timetables were introduced on SM Coaches S20 and T15 services. There will be no change to the general level of service provided, although passengers for Pinnacles and Templefields should check on the relevant LOCAL POINTS pages for details of revised times. Route T15 will continue to serve the Town Station during rush hours, otherwise buses will operate to the Town Centre (Bus Station) only.

22nd December 2001 (Amended 29th December 2001)
A number of changes will take effect from  22nd December 2001. Timetable information on this site is being updated gradually, please check the effective or last update date at the top of the relevant page.

5 - This service will continue to run between Potter Street and Little Parndon at basically the same frequency. Most journeys between 9am and 3.30pm will be extended from Little Parndon to Princess Alexandra Hospital. Some early morning and early evening buses will now be operated by Locallink buses. 

7 - This new service will operate from Churchgate Street and run through Old Harlow, First Avenue, Harlow Bus Station, Great Parndon (Three Horseshoes Road) and Kingsmoor to Sumners Farm. The service will operate every hour on Monday to Saturdays between approximately 9am and 6pm, and will replace this section on service 392. Please note that the service will operate the full length of First Avenue and not serve Queens Gate or Harlow Town Station.

392 - This service will now operate between Harlow Town Station and Hoddesdon (Rye Park) and be operated by First in place of Arriva. The routing in Harlow will be through the Bus Station then Bush Fair, Commonside Road and Paringdon Road, replacing route B4 along this section. One journey will be renumbered 393 and serve Roydon Hamlet instead of Bumbles Green. New route 7 (above) will replace the section within Harlow from Kingsmoor and Great Parndon to Churchgate Street.

502 - This Arriva service is being discontinued to ensure that a full and reliable service can be operated on other Arriva routes during the present driver shortages. Alternative connections to most places are provided by hourly route 500. Passengers for the Loughton and Debden area should use improved service H1. A limited new service from the Loughton area to Romford, numbered 202, will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays (Romford market days). This service will be operated by Trustline.

B1 - The Saturday service will be improved to run every 10 minutes on the section between between Harlow Town Centre and Sumners/Katherines.

B4 - This service will be discontinued. Route 392/3 will provide a replacement service along Commonside Road, whilst new Arriva route 7 will provide a service to Sumners Farm. 

H1 - A new timetable is being introduced on this service to provide an earlier and later service on Mondays to Fridays. In addition, a Saturday service is being introduced with four return journeys spread through the day. To assist reliability, buses will now run directly from Tumbler Road to the Bus Station, and no longer serve Maddox Road or Princess Alexandra Hospital. .

A new service had been started by Olympian Coaches. Route OC2 operates from Harlow Bus Station directly to Staple Tye Shopping Centre and the Salvation Army via Abercrombie Way. White minibuses operate the service which runs every 15 minutes between approximately 9am and 3pm, and from 4.30pm to 6pm.

1st-3rd September 2001

Metro 4 (from Sunday 2nd September)
This route will be introduced on Sundays, running every hour. On this day only buses will run via Howard Way and First Avenue, and in addition will start from (but not run to) Little Parndon. The Sunday service will be run by Clintona using blue and white minibuses. This service will replace existing Sunday service 854. There is no change to the weekday service on route 4. 

Metro
10 (from Sunday 2nd September)
This route will be introduced on Sundays, running every hour. The Sunday service will be run by Clintona using blue and white minibuses. This service will replace the link between Church Langley and Harlow Town presently provided by Sunday service 851. There is no change to the weekday service on route 10. 

New Sunday route
11 (from Sunday 2nd September)
Will operate every hour from Sumners and Katherines to Harlow Bus and Town stations. Buses will continue to (but not start from) Little Parndon. Route 11 will be operated by Clintona using blue and white minibuses. This service will replace the link between Sumners/Katherines and Harlow Town presently provided by Sunday service 851.


New Sunday route
12 (from Sunday 2nd September)
Will run every hour from Old Harlow to Templefields and Harlow Town, then run in a circle through Hare Street, Passmores, Stewards, Staple Tye, and Kingsmoor, then return to Hare Street, Harlow Town, Templefields and Old Harlow. Route 12 will be operated by Clintona using blue and white minibuses. This service will replace the link between the Staple Tye area and Harlow Town presently provided by Sunday services 852 and 853. Note that this route will only operate in one direction through Passmores, Stewards, Staple Tye, and Kingsmoor. This service will also replace the link between Old Harlow, Edinburgh Way and Harlow Town presently provided by Sunday service 851.

Will no longer run and be replaced by the changes to routes 4 and 10, and by new Sunday routes 11 and 12. 

New Monday to Friday route
H1 (from Monday 3rd September)
Will run from Harlow to North Weald, Epping, Debden and Loughton. Within Harlow buses will start on Fourth Avenue near Princess Alexandra Hospital, and then run via the bus station, Maddox Road, Tumbler Road and Potter Street. The service will run hourly during the daytime. Route H1 will be operated by Imperial using green double deck buses.

New Monday to Saturday route
SM20 (from Monday 3rd September)
Will run from Sumners and Katherines to Harlow bus station via Staple Tye, Passmores, St Marks School, and Bush Fair. The main service will run every 15 minutes during monday to Saturday daytime. Certain Monday to Friday rush hour journeys will continue to either Pinnacles, Templefields, or Burnt Mill and Mark Hall Schools. Route SM20 will be operated by SM Travel using red double deck buses.

Will be simplified to run between Potter Street and Harlow bus and train stations. Buses will continue to run every 15 minutes with certain rush hour journeys on Mondays to Fridays  continuing to run to Pinnacles or Templefields. Little Parndon, Princess Alexandra Hospital, The Stow and Church Langley will no longer be served.

In order to improve timekeeping and reliability on METRO 10 and 10A, buses will no longer serve the stop immediately outside Church Langley Tesco. The nearest stop will be the first stop in Church Langley Way which is easily accessible from the store, or alternatively, the last stop in Kiln Lane. Times are otherwise unchanged.

Routes 59 and 349 combined into one service numbered 59. The present route 349 journeys to Hatfield Broad Oak, and the peak hour service to Templefields now operate under the 59 number. Most journeys remain at the same times, there are however some minor variations.

15th June 2001

Times for Buzz services in the town were altered to improve reliability. The frequency to Katherines on Saturdays altered from every 10 minutes to every 15 minutes. The weekday service to Templefields is now on service B1 rather than B31.

11th June 2001

A minor change on route 724. The Monday to Friday 06:00 journey from Harlow re-timed to  leave 10 minutes earlier at 05:50. This is to allow the bus sufficient time to complete the journey.

30th April 2001

Some minor alterations  to the timetables on routes 4,5, 501, 502 and 510.   In general only a few journeys are affected, and will involve them leaving slightly earlier than at present, to allow sufficient time for the journey to be completed on time.

A new operator, Imperial of Rainham, took over the Sunday service on Routes 200 and 500. The 500 at Romford now starts at Romford Market (St Edwards Way) and no longer serves the section of route between there and Romford Station. Times are basically the same and the main Monday to Saturday service by Arriva remained unchanged.

Routes 851-4 passed from First Eastern National to Clintona Minicoaches without any change to the timetable.

T15 change
Passengers making journeys on route T15 from Church Langley should note that after 9am buses now leave directly to the A414 from Tesco, and no longer serve Church Langley Way, Lane End and Kiln Lane.

Buses on Route 59 will be better spread through the day to reduce some of the longer gaps in the service. Arriva Colchester gain two Journeys to Harlow and One from on Mondays to Fridays, one one each way on Saturdays.

New route 522 will link Harlow with the Market serving Staple Tye, Southern Way, and Potter Street. Passengers will be able to use the route for all local connections and not just for travel to the market. This represents a change from previous arrangements on special services 005 and 006, which will no longer run. A Sunday service is being introduced this summer on Route 505 for the first time. This will provide direct bus links to many places previously unavailable on this day including Walthamstow, Chingford, Waltham Abbey, Bumbles Green and Broadley Common. Details on this site have now been updated. The Sunday service will operate until 3rd September.

A number of daytime journeys on Route T15 have been diverted to serve the Hospital, providing a direct link from Church Langley, Potter Street, Brays Grove and Little Parndon

Sunday service changes saw Route 510 introduced on an hourly headway, replacing the two two-hourly Sunday only routes, 504 and 512. Connections onward from Bishops Stortford are now made onto new route 302, running from St Michaels Mead to Saffron Walden every two hours.

8th May 2000

This is the target date for the introduction of the Church Langley Express Bus Corridor. Route 10 will be introduced during peak hours, and extended at these times to Harlow Town Station. The off-peak service will be improved to run every 15 minutes.

New route 10A will be introduced to replace the existing 856 service. Low floor buses will be guaranteed.

15th April 2000

NEW ROUTE 2 - STAPLE TYE CIRCULAR This new service will operate from Harlow Bus Station to Hare Street, Kingsmoor, Staple Tye, Stewards and Passmores before returning to Harlow Bus Station. During rush hours buses will continue to and start from Harlow Town Station. Buses will operate to a new more reliable timetable, running every 20 minutes during rush hours and every 15 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytime. In the evenings a new hourly service will be introduced, which together with new route 3 below, will provide twice as many buses to the area than is provided in the evenings today.
This replaces present daytime route 802 between Harlow Town and the Staple Tye area.

NEW ROUTE 3 - STAPLE TYE CIRCULAR This new service will operate as route 2 above, but run the reverse way around the circle. Buses will also operate every 20 minutes during rush hours and every 15 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytime with an hourly service during the evenings.
This replaces present daytime route 803 between Harlow Town and the Staple Tye area, and also the Monday to Saturday evening service on route 853.

NEW ROUTE 4 - LATTON BUSH - HARLOW TOWN NEW ROUTE 4A - LATTON BUSH - HARLOW TOWN - PINNACLES These new services will operate from Latton Bush to Harlow Bus Station via present route 804. During rush hours buses will continue to, and start from, Harlow Town Station. Route 4A will continue to Pinnacles Industrial Estate. The service will be improved to operate every 8 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytime. During rush hours buses will operate every 10 minutes between Latton Bush and Harlow Bus and Rail Stations, with alternate buses continuing to Pinnacles. An hourly evening service will also be provided. This replaces present daytime route 804, and also the Monday to Saturday evening service on route 854.

5 - An hourly evening service will be introduced on Monday to Saturdays between Harlow Town Centre, Harlow Town Station ,and Little Parndon. This replaces the similar section of present route 859.

10 - An new hourly evening service will be introduced on Monday to Saturdays between Harlow Town Centre and Church Langley.

391 - This new hourly evening service will be introduced between Churchgate Street and Sumners/Katherines via Harlow Town Station and Harlow Town Centre. This will replace existing service 859 between Churchgate Street and Harlow, and also the Monday to Saturday evening service on route 851.

504 - The Monday to Friday service will be discontinued. Passengers for Saffron Walden should take route 510 and change at Stansted Airport to Village Link service 5. Details of connecting times will be published shortly.

510 - The evening service which at present operates along First Avenue will be diverted via Maddox Road, Momples Road and Mark Hall South to match the daytime service. This replaces the section of existing evening route 859 between Harlow and Old Harlow.

802/803 - These services will be discontinued and replaced by new routes 2 and 3 above. Passengers for Templefields or Harlow Mill should change at Harlow Bus Station to services 856, B1 or B31.

804 - This service will be discontinued and replaced by new routes 4 and 4A above.

851, 853, 854 and 859. These Monday to Saturday evening services will be discontinued and incorporated into routes 3, 4, 5, 391, and 510.

3rd April 2000

Buzz route B4 has been extended from Staple Tye back to Harlow Bus Station, making the service a circular. In addition a new peak hour facility is introduced, and certain journeys now extend to or start from Templefields (Riverway). One journey operates direct via the Stow, is numbered B14. These changes replace and improve upon the previous Associated Coachways service 864. See services page for details.

20th March 2000

T15 - Buses will continue to run from Church Langley to Harlow Bus Station, but alternate journeys will continue to Little Parndon via Harlow Town Station. These journeys will not serve the Stow in this direction. The peak hour service to Pinnacles will be diverted to also serve Little Parndon, and there will be more evening journeys returning from Pinnacles. The Templefields journeys will continue as now.

11th March 2000

500 & 502. From this date Arriva have guaranteed that low floor buses will be used on these routes. Full details of the guarantee can be found at  www.roding-valley-buses.co.uk (later note: website since discontinued). 

15th January 2000

510 - A new early journey introduced on Mondays to Saturdays. Ex Harlow 04:10, Ex Stansted Airport 05:10.

6th December 1999

B4 - New service operated by Buzz Co-operative. Bus Station to Tye Green, Latton Bush, Commonside Road, Sumners Farm and Staple Tye. Hourly between 9am and 2.30 Monday to Friday or shopping hours on Saturday. See services page for full details.

30th October 1999

5 - New service replacing route 805, and also the Bus Station to Little Parndon section of route 807. Operation Monday to Saturday daytimes as follows. Potter Street, Moat House, Traceys Road, Tumbler Road, Tillwicks Road, Second Avenue, Bus Station, Town Station, Little Parndon. Certain journeys in rush hours will operate to Pinnacles Industrial Estate. Every 15-20 mins Potter Street to Bus Station, every 30 mins Bus Station to Little Parndon. 

10 - New service replacing the section of routes 817 and 818 between Church Langley and Harlow Bus Station via Second Avenue. Operation Monday to Saturday daytime (between rush hours only), half hourly. Note that route 856 remains unchanged.

392 - Extended within Harlow from the Bus Station to Town Station, then Queensgate, First Avenue, Old Harlow Post Office, Old Harlow Green Man, to Churchgate Street. (This replaced the Bus Station to Churchgate Street section of route 807). In addition the daytime service frequency will be increased to run hourly. (This replaced route 393)

393 - This service discontinued and replaced by additional journeys on route 392. The service to Roydon is now only on route 381 (Monday-Friday) or 724 (Sundays only)

505 - Extended within Harlow from the Bus Station to First Avenue, then Mark Hall North, Old Harlow Post Office, Harlowbury (Priory Avenue, The Hoo, Old Road) to Old Harlow (Green Man). (This replaced the service to Mark Hall North  and Mulberry Green on routes 817 and 818, and the service to Harlowbury on routes 809 and 810)

805 - This service discontinued and replaced by new route 5.

809/810 - This service discontinued and the Harlowbury sections replaced by route 505. For Sawbridgeworth see alternative connections.

815 - This service discontinued

817/818 - This service discontinued. The Church Langley to Harlow Bus Station section is replaced by new route 10. The Old Harlow and Mark Hall North to Harlow Bus Station section is replaced by route 505. Note that route 856 remains unchanged.
